Borgarnes is beautiful in a more scerence, calm and quiet...

Borgarnes is beautiful in a more scerence, calm and quiet way compared to the rest of our visit to Iceland. The view was amazing and the people who live there are so kind! We had a great time meeting people at every restaurant and store we stopped in. Would love more time there next time!

Borgarnes is a small town, very easy to walk around, but...

Borgarnes is a small town, very easy to walk around, but enough facilities for a short stay. There is a choice of cafes and restaurants. There is a swimming pool, but we didn't use it. It was a good location for us to hunt the Northern Lights. Only a short journey was needed to reach areas with dark skies. We were not disappointed.

We only spent 1 night and 1 lunchtime in Borgarnes, so my experience was limited. We would have loved to stay longer and explore more! The walk along the seaside is beautiful and a great way to get around. The pool with its hot tubs is excellent - just go here and skip the pricey spas! The town feels so safe and there are some lovely bakeries and cafes. The Settlement Museum is well worth a visit!

Small uninteresting town.

Small uninteresting town. Better to continue on to Reykjavik or stay somewheres before like Bifrost. We ate at Baza Bistro just down from Hotel Borgarnes. It was great. Food good, very generous serves and friendly staff.

This place was a gem of a find, fantastic scenery, and...

This place was a gem of a find, fantastic scenery, and peaceful. The host was great and the cabin had everything we needed. The town is just fifteen minutes away for groceries etc. A bonus are the farmers dogs who come into the cabin deck and want to play or just have their tummy tickled. There is no tv, in such a wonderful location why would you need one. 100 percent recorded!

all the basic facilities, grocery store, nice french fusion restaurant in one of the hotels in town. starting point to major outdoor points (e.g. Snaefellsness national park, points north and inland). A good base for multiple day trips north and inland. Close to Glymur , highest waterfall in iceland (summer only, no river crossing in winter!)

Hotel Hamar is a golfers' paradise, set in beautiful surrondings with distant mountains, a lake and a well maintained link with plenty of trees. The full breakfast offered in the delightful dining room is second to none and the evening gatherings are enjoyable.

Very well located, close to Borgarnes and right next to Hafnarfjall mountain and a few hiking trails. Clean apartment, comfortable beds, with basic kitchenette equipment, very useful to prepare quick meals.

Very nice, cozy hotel in a good location. Perfect basecamp if you want to discover the surrondings of Borgarness. The mexican chicken soup was more than tasty. Staff is friendly, and helpfull.
