Hótel Framtíð is a quite nice place to stay - it is clean and friendly although it is a bit worn out and lacks style. The breakfast is however lousy and way over priced like in so many places in Iceland - what's with the thing they call ham??? Disgusting!

Ideal facility for us as we were travelling the Ring Road/Route by car. We were self-contained for food and drink. A great view from the property, which was immaculate. Easy access from the main road. GPS or Google Maps is a help to find the property as it is in a rural location. Birdlife nearby.

Djúpivogur is a sweet little fishing village.
Djúpivogur is a sweet little fishing village. In the neighborhood you can take a couple of hiking trails. Hotel Framtid serves good meals in their restaurant. There is a gas station, and a camping nearby. It is a nice place for stay-overs, probably good for one day, maybe two.

This is a small fishing town with a beautiful harbor, nice hotel and good camping facilities. The art installation of stone eggs is a local attraction and the Monsters and Men museum is a charming collection of stones, bones, and artifacts run by a local who is happy to chat with visitors. Black and light sand beaches within walking or a short drive.
