Hotel Aldan - The Post Office is 500 metres from the Smyril Line Ferry Terminal in Seydisfjördur. WiFi and parking are free. This hotel, in 3 different location, is simply the most charming I have ever been. Location is superb, the breakfast is very good, the room we stayed (family room in Snæfells) simply perfect and cozy
Set in 2 historic buildings in Seydisfjördur village, this accommodation offers bright and individually decorated rooms with free WiFi and a flat-screen TV with DVD player. Very charming we stayed in the old bank quiet and close enough to the main building for a nice walk
This Seydisfjordur hostel is situated in the eastern fjords of Iceland, 25 minutes’ drive from Egilsstadir Airport. It offers free WiFi and a garden. I have stayed in many places in Iceland already but this certainly was one of the best if not the best. Communication beforehand was easy, the guesthouse is super clean and also takes measures with regard to the current situation seriously, the owner / staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely would go back there and can totally recommend it even for a longer stay than just one night.
Hafaldan HI Hostel - Harbour Building offers accommodation in Seyðisfjörður. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. It was very slow due to the pandemic, so I was actually asked to move to the Old Hospital location so they could keep all of the guests in one location. Not an issue at all! But my review is based on the Old Hospital location. It was stunning! The host was so lovely and so helpful, I arrived a little early and she was so kind in getting me situated. The showers downstairs were beautiful and warm. Having come from a very cold van and washing my hair in sinks with freezing water, this was heaven. There were also saunas that I wish I would have taken advantage of, but I was so excited for the bed. 😂 The rooms were also beautiful with really big windows, easy to shut out the 20 hour daylight. Such comfortable beds, big kitchen area, private toilets that are nice and clean. Love the history of the building and how that history is also displayed so that the guests can learn about it. I can’t say enough good things about this hostel. I will surely be back when I return!
Located in Seydisfjördur village, this hostel offers bright rooms with a seating area, fjord views and free Wi-Fi. Seydisfjördur Swimming Pool is just 30 metres away. Parking is free at the hostel. Helpful staff, big kitchen, sauna, walkable location. The view was great, and they also had a washer and dryer to use for a fee.
Located in central Seydisfjördur, these apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, free Wi-Fi access and a furnished terrace. Seydisfjordur Public Swimming Pool is 5 minutes’ walk away. Beautiful, modern, huge house. Kitchen has absolutely everything what's needed, even dishwasher. Beautiful morning view.
Set along the Seydisfjordur Fjord, these cottages are less than 3 km from the town of Seydisfjorudur. Each offers impressive panoramic views and a large terrace with an outdoor hot tub and BBQ. The views were incredible, and the communication with the host before hand was great! They let us know key codes for doors several days in advance. An amazing place and we will definitely be back!!
Set in Seyðisfjörður, 3.8 km from Gufufoss, Media Luna Guesthouse offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The guest house has family rooms. Comfortable and use of a good kitchen. Right off the ferry port and a great base for a first night in Iceland.
Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village. We ate at two of the restaurants and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a local hike. And being fans of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" we enjoyed seeing the filming locations in this town.
A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely. Our only problem is that we didn't have enough time to explore the town and surrounding area. We would have added a second night if we had the chance to do it again.
Beautiful small town tucked away in the fjords of iceland. We loved it here. However, we also love small towns. If you are looking for a bustling town, this might not be for you. I'm sure it gets busier in the summer though.
We were driving the perimeter of Iceland and this was a location picked based on mileage. I was not sure exactly what a fjord was. This is a spectacularly beautiful area. A quaint little town where everything is within walking distance. You can drive to the ends on both sides of the water. The place we stayed was right below the waterfall. There are lots of hiking trails.
The fjord was really pretty, views from the road in & out are stunning. Has a reasonable choice of places to eat & some cute local businesses / art studios. Was a peaceful place to stop for a night in the Eastfjords, everything in town is walking distance apart. Unless you’re planning on lots of walks in the area, I’d say 1-2 nights is just right.
Lovely little town in a fjord in east Iceland. There is a lot of charm and a vibrant art scene. I only visited Skaftfell bistro, which was very good, but there seemed to be a lot of good restaurant choices, including the "best sushi bar in Iceland" according to many.

Great location. We booked a room with a view of the fjord with a balcony. Definitely worth it. Nicely appointed minimalist decor.
Beautiful, modern, huge house. Kitchen has absolutely everything what's needed, even dishwasher. Beautiful morning view.
Check-in was quick and easy. Host was very nice. Apartment is spacious. Parking is on property, so very convenient.
