Hotel Aldan - The Post Office is 500 metres from the Smyril Line Ferry Terminal in Seydisfjördur. WiFi and parking are free. The property is placed next to a picturesque lake and the room had an amazing view. The room was big and comfortable, so we’re the beds and bedding. The restaurant of the hotel had the best dinner we had in our road-trip and also the best breakfast. All in all this hotel and this village was one of the best things we did on the ring road!
Located in Seydisfjördur village, this hostel offers bright rooms with a seating area, fjord views and free Wi-Fi. Seydisfjördur Swimming Pool is just 30 metres away. Parking is free at the hostel. Everything. The building is beautiful and history is on display. All staff we met were lovely and so helpful. Kitchen facilities were so spacious with a decent coffee machine available to use. The shower facilities felt like walking into a spa. There is a sauna available but we didn't use it during out stay. Was so happy we chose here for our longest stay of the trip .
This Seydisfjordur hostel is situated in the eastern fjords of Iceland, 25 minutes’ drive from Egilsstadir Airport. It offers free WiFi and a garden. We loved, loved, loved it! Great open kitchen. Has everything, even a coffee/cocoa machine. There's a washer and dryer, too. Rooms are bright, spotless, comfortable. The place looks like it was recently renovated. Everything looks new. Highly recommended.
Set in a characteristic wooden house, Við Lónið Guesthouse is an accommodation in Seyðisfjörður. Absolutely fantastic hotel. Beautiful rooms. Had one with balcony facing the lagoon. They allowed us to stay until we could get into the boat at 4 pm. Recommend staying here. 10 out of 10. Great location. Near all shops.
Hafaldan HI Hostel - Harbour Building offers accommodation in Seyðisfjörður. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. Excellent value for money, great location with a view of the harbor. We stayed at the only room out of seven that was a four-bed dorm room, and only had one guest on the top bunk. These were the best bunk beds of all the hostels that I've stayed at - comfortable and well-designed. Spacious and conversation-inviting dining area overlooking the harbor. Small kitchen but sufficient for our needs. Very cute and comfortable hostel.
Set in Seyðisfjörður, 3.8 km from Gufufoss, Media Luna Guesthouse offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The guest house has family rooms. it was exceptionally clean and the staff was very cooperative it was in the heart of beautiful small town we had fun
Set along the Seydisfjordur Fjord, these cottages are less than 3 km from the town of Seydisfjorudur. Each offers impressive panoramic views and a large terrace with an outdoor hot tub and BBQ. The views were incredible, and the communication with the host before hand was great! They let us know key codes for doors several days in advance. An amazing place and we will definitely be back!!
Picturesque small fishing village and cultural arts center with great restaurants, hiking, and boat tours. Very walkable. A must visit, if you're in the East! Bring your camera, the photo ops are endless!
This town is a bit over rated in my opinion. There is almost nothing there. The setting is nice, but we stayed in a town called Siglufjordur up north is much prettier and had a lot more to offer, so I would skip this one and head up there.
This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. Breakfast options are limited, however there is a little bakery in the supermarket that has wonderful fresh baked bread and goods.
This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory. In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.
Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village. We ate at two of the restaurants and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a local hike. And being fans of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" we enjoyed seeing the filming locations in this town.
A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely. Our only problem is that we didn't have enough time to explore the town and surrounding area. We would have added a second night if we had the chance to do it again.
We decided to make the 20 minute drive off the road ring and stay here for one night and we weren’t disappointed. The drive was beautiful and the town is picturesque and charming. The property has one bedroom and bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs (one with a queen and one with two twin beds). The kitchen is simple but fills all basic needs. The laundry is shared and not a big washing machine but I was able to wash 8 items or so. Iceland is so beautiful. Enjoy!
I stayed here for my wedding in Seydisfjordur and it was beautiful, clean and sparkling new. The owner was really sweet and provided us an iron and mirror when we requested it. Fresh towels were offered every day. She was so accommodating and super friendly - she even left a gift for us to celebrate our marriage. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the Blue Church and we had a room overlooking the rainbow road. Incredible. We were so happy to stay here!
I have stayed in many places in Iceland already but this certainly was one of the best if not the best. Communication beforehand was easy, the guesthouse is super clean and also takes measures with regard to the current situation seriously, the owner / staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely would go back there and can totally recommend it even for a longer stay than just one night.
Excellent!!!! This is the most clean hostel I've been so far in Iceland, compared to the rest.. Wonderful town & will make sure to book this place ahead of time in the future. Its the only place also I had a decent night sleep. I don't know if that's the ambience of the place itself or because no one is finally snoring :)
Our room was located in the old bank building. The room was spacious and comfortable. Many original features and furnishings had been retained which enhanced the overall stay. Breakfast was at the restaurant - another building but close by. Must try the Iceland porridge - v. tasty. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent - fish.
Oh my goodness the view. And the sound of waterfalls all around. What a beautiful setting, and a quick walk to Seyðisfjörður for groceries and dining. This is the one place we stayed in Iceland that makes us want to return and stay a month! It was also nice to have a grill.
The property is in a beautiful quiet little coastal town, in a beautiful fjord. Lovely scenery and a beautiful waterfall on the way in. The apartment was large and comfortable for my family of 4. And a short walk from nice Hotel Aldan where you could buy drinks and food.
Just rent this place if it’s available. The place is just outstanding and the town is one of the cutest towns in Iceland. We wished we could’ve spent more time in this place.
The staff was very kind and nice. There is a shared kitchen I could use, good feature. It is not like hotel, but like one room in a flat house with more than few rooms.
The place is very nice, in a glaciar created area. The hotel was in realty a group of 3 buildings separated, but that was just fine.
Nice location, beautiful view, close to restaurants.
