We arrived a the most majestic, magical place we didn’t know existed. We loved arriving at the hotel and being greeted by a beautiful sheep dog who wanted to play with a smal stone and seemed really well trained. When we walked into the hotel, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff who took out bags and brought them to our room after showing us the way and introducing us to the hotel and it’s facilities. Staff were extended friendly. Additionally, there was a friendly white cat who became affectionate as we were sat outside cooling off from the sauna, who also greeted us at breakfast in the morning by sitting outside the window next to out table. We loved every single second. It felt like a real home rather than a hotel.

the staff were fantastic in all areas of the hotel. The hotel in general exceeded our expectations whether it was the games and books in common areas to the exceptional food in the restaurant. The hotel is also a close walk to the black sand beach with a short 10/15 min walk. One of the best hotel finds on our trip with the staff looking after our little 2 year old Austen like family :)

Very friendly, helpful staff. Check-in was a breeze. Big, warm, clean, modern family room that smelt nice (according to the kids). The meal at the restaurant was lovely, especially the soup, and the buffet breakfast was outstanding! The waterfall nearby is beautiful. Thank you Hotel Skogafoss.

We could easily check in with the code we received. The room was fine, good beds, excellent bathroom and good WiFi. The road to it is a gravel road, but easy to drive The breakfast was excellent, including banana bread, yogurt, fruit, various types of bread, cheese and meats. From the restaurant you have a beautiful view of the volcano surroundings.

We loved Hotel Anna. The staff was friendly and helpful (though it seemed some were new and the front desk was often unstaffed, but someone always appeared). The location was just what we expected (on a farm in a very small settlement, off the main road), but it was tucked up against beautiful hills with great walking trails, and surrounded by fields full of the wonderful Icelandic horses. The first night dinner was great; second night was disappointing (long in coming and some entrees seemed to have been waiting around; it was a Tuesday and we suspected it was the chef's night off).

Our accommodation was very farm and welcoming: the hosts took care of every single detail, making it very cozy! As soon as we arrived, they greeted us with cake and plenty of food to eat, and along with that we really appreciated the fact that they had left some products for all the guests to take (since there are no shops near the accommodation). Shower was very spacious, along with the room itself, with no difficulties regarding where to put our belongings. We would really love to come back! Ps: the little sleeping plushies were sooooo cute

A lovely modern cottage or tiny house on surrounded by super friendly sheep farmer families. We felt at home immediately and were lucky to have booked the same location travelling back and forth the south coast. Very close to Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss and Solheimasandur plane wreck. Arrive early and have a walk in the beautifull lush and desolate canyons right past the house. Ideal for couple or family with one or two kids. We'd now recommend to book few days in a row to roam the area.

Great location for some of the amazing beauty-spots of the area. The road up to the lighthouse is now paved and the views from up there are beyond spectacular. Watch for rogue waves at Black Beach! Despite the warning signs, flashing lights, I watched an idiot tourist engulfed and pulled toward the ocean. Yes, he was able to scramble to safety, but it was close. Mother Nature is not to be toyed with! Signs at the parking lot to the plane wreck say that it takes “3-4 hours” to walk there and back—because they want you to take their bus-thingy. I’m a fast walker and it took me 40 minutes each way. The sight was amazing, if you like bizzare and surreal sights—which I do.

Steinar itself is not a tourist destination (it's a small hamlet), but it's located close to many attractions of the southern coast, and the surroundings are beautiful - it's located between the ocean and steep rocks. There are no public beaches in the vicinity, and there's no access to the sea, only private pastures up to the horizon.
