United StatesWe booked this place on a whim after visiting the nearby Santo Stefano di Sessanio area and let me just say we were BLOWN away, not only by the entire region but by this place specifically.
We were not able to arrive to La Locanda delle Streghe until quite late in the evening, but this was no problem for our hosts who greeted us so warmly. Upon entering you can immediately feel how special the place is - the downstairs feels like a family member's inviting living room-turned-restaurant, and although were weren't able to dine here since we had to leave to catch our flight, all I saw online were postings about how this is the best place to score some great food in the charming, quaint town.
The signs leading to the place were all very easy to follow and find, and I cannot express enough how kind and accommodating the hosts are. Breakfast is from 8-10 but they offered to make food for us earlier if we needed, and you truly get the sense there's nothing they won't do to help you have the most enjoyable experience!
My boyfriend and I hadn't known much about the earthquake that happened in the area in 2009, but seeing this place was such a testament to the strength & fortitude these warm, welcoming people had to rebuild and create a space that feels like home to anyone :)
