The room cost was an off season bargain for a 4 star hotel on Bolsena lake. The room was spotless. I got a large bed even though a single. I'm not sure why I've read bad things about the breakfasts. It's one of the few places that have served a large amount of scrambled eggs. The room itself was very quiet. This was a Francigena rest day for me and I enjoyed it very much.

It had everything, location, beautiful pool, lovely gardens, classic building, lovely dining room, ticked all the boxes!

Location, beautiful facilities, superb breakfast, shuttle service to the city, comfortable bed, spa, comfortable and elegant common areas but above all the kindness of the staff. They did everything in their power to assist us always with kindness and a big smile. We would like to thank the staff at the reception for the big effort to assist us with something we left behind they really went the extra mile. We will definitely come back to Palazzo Piccolomini.

Although the hotel’s restaurant was closed during our visit, the staff provided excellent recommendations for dining in Orvieto, ensuring we enjoyed the best of the local cuisine. Exploring Orvieto is a must. The town’s stunning architecture, rich history, and charming streets offer endless opportunities for discovery. From the magnificent Orvieto Cathedral to the intriguing underground caves, there is something for every traveler. In summary, Hotel Villa Ciconia is a charming, historical retreat with excellent service and amenities.

Everything was amazing! Staff were very friendly in special the receptionist who welcomed us very late in the night after a long drive! What could be more amazing that a warm person greeting you with smile and positive attitude. Guided us for parking our car and accommodate us with all what we needed. The breakfast delicious!
