Featuring a sauna and a panoramic terrace, Sport Hotel is 164 feet from the Val Pusteria ski resort. Guests can dine at the restaurant and have a drink at the bar. We needed the hotel as a base for our 3 day trek in the Dolomites. It was an excellent location, half hour from our start point. We loved that Padola is a small town (compared to Cortina d'Ampezzo) so we didn't feel rushed or crowded. We were also very relieved to find ample parking with easy access into the hotel. The check in was prompt and very friendly. Breakfast in the dining room was delicious with plenty of choices and accommodation for dietary needs.

Excellent winter vacation. · The place has a very good familiar atmosphere. We loved it very much. We were there with 2 kids. It is a safe place and beautifull. In the rooms there are stylish wood furnitures, all hand made by Massimo ( the landlord). The breakfast is excellent: ham, fruits, jam ,fine coffe, hand made by the landlady. The landlady and the landlord are very helpfull. You need something , the owner will help and organise it. The slopes are close on foot or by car, around 200meters. You can rent skí and you can attend ski scool as well. The room has a great price/ value ratio. I recommend BBNonno Remo very much!
Beautiful landscapes and pristine nature around. Close to other attractions in Dolomiti. There are almost no places where to eat in Padola, so if you travel to Padola overnight have enough food in your car.
It was a bit boring for us as when we were there (the week before Christmas) a lot of shops and fun Parks were closed. Winter was cold and It was really quiet. And needless to say our young kids were bored out of their gourd. Most restaurants were closed too so we had to content with eating sandwiches for lunch and dinner. We enjoyed cortina though. Nice place for shopping. Wished we had some heads up that we were going at such a season.
A simply MARVELOUS town to visit!! The Dolomites are fabulous, and Padola affords enjoyment of the mountains without the crowds of tourists which are too often a burden in other parts of this range. Padola still celebrates local traditions and customs, and does not merely stage them for visitors. Here people still live and work and lead their lives, rather than waiting for 'tourist season'. The calibre of woodworking and crafts is outstanding, as is the local museum of alpine and Ladino heritage: a delightful gem, interesting and informative at every turn. Local wines, grappa and cheese are distinctive and delicious; be sure to enjoy some relaxation at 'La Cantina'! A terrific base for hiking, biking or skiing, both alpine and cross-country. Don't fret about weather forecasts of rain: these are only expected likelihoods of probabilities; rain is often very local and brief -- and the cloud scapes are breath-taking!!
The ski facilities of Padola are limited (1 ski lift and slope for children and beginners; 1 ski lift with 3 slopes - from blue to black), but the ski pass also gives access to the very extensive ski facilities of the popular Sexten Dolomites, where accommodation is far more expensive: the ski lifts and slopes of Stiergarten, Rotwand and Helm are only 30 minutes away by car or skibus.
