These hotels in Rapallo are highly rated by couples: Hotel Astoria, Hotel San Desiderio, and Hotel Vesuvio.
Rapallo itself is a small underfinanced city with not much to see. The only two things (one day is enough) is the nearby Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. Also if you have seen the Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre isn't truly not worth visiting ... On that leg of our trip we were to Rapallo, Cinque Terre, Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino, Genova, Pavia. Liked Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and Pavia best.
Rapallo is a central location between Genoa and Cinque Terre. Easy walking and bus access to Santa Marguerita and Portofino. The train station is an easy jump on point for trips to Cinque Terre. Lots of terrific bakeries, cafes, restaurants.
Very nice town, lots of good restaurants, friendly people. Super easy to reach by train. To stay on the nice beaches, it might be advisable to book a beach chair and umbrella a bit early in the day, cause it can get a bit crowded. I just enjoyed a nice apperitivo at a beach club, also perfect.
We liked the bars and restaurants street inside the city center. The restaurants and bar at the seaside are for elder people with karaoke. The streets are very chaotic and if you don't have a parking permission it's hard to find an empty spot.
Rappalo has excellent seafood restaurants in the marina as well as traditional food in the hills. The old part of the city is full of various cafes, pastry shops, restaurants with excellent Italian espresso, cookies, ice cream, pizzas and other specialties. The Japanese restaurant on the coast, where robots are served, is also interesting. The people at Rapallo are extremely kind and visitor-oriented. Just in the air, you can feel the hospitality of the inhabitants of Rappalo along with the sea air. A visit to Portofino and St. Margarita is also for every recommendation (they actually rely on Rapallo). Bear in the mind, that restaurants and parking in Portofino are not cheep. The only problem in Rapallo may be mosquitoes, because there is no spraying against them in that region.
We stayed in Rapallo only because we did not find a proper flat in Santa Margharita. The town is very noisy, there are no nice beaches. We had a car so we were able to spent most of our time elsewhere.
Rapallo
The villa was fabulous and like staying in a stately home/museum. Marina is extremely helpful, welcoming and nice and is very proud of the villa and its history, which she is more than happy to share with guests. She is always available and offers a good selection of food at breakfast which she is also flexible with to suit guests wants/requirements. The location is good with only a small walk into the heart of Rapallo and with a bus stop not far away.
--Excellent and super friendly staffs. they provide us very useful information for surrounding, restaurants, visit information and hotel has it own parking place, easy for --Hotel might be smaller compare to other Hotels, but I have to say it has wonderful location just in front of the Sea, and cozy room with sea view is also amazing. we enjoyed a lot --super clean in the room as well as hotel area, good choices of breakfast. thank you.
Everything! Marco & Philippo (hope I spelled that right) we’re WONDERFUL hosts and a delight to stay with. The hotel is spotless and has everything necessary for a stress-free stay. Edifex, their GORGEOUS dog, was an added bonus and won over my heart! Would highly recommend...convenient, friendly and great value for money! Will definitely recommend and hope to return next time I’m in Rapallo.
Fantastic location overlooking Rapallo Bay.... Great family accommodation with separate bedroom for kids. Hotel owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. Beautiful clean rooms and fabulous views from the balcony. Lovely continental style breakfast. Comfortable outside lounge out front to have a drink and people watch.
Friendly staff, they gave us a parking pass to help us park our car. The hotel was in a central location in Rapallo, lots of bars and restaurants nearby, and easy to get to ferry or bus to get to Portofino. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including air conditioning, mini fridge and TV.
The hotel is a little dated but clean and tidy and the staff were really helpful and friendly - definitely going above and beyond to help us work out the local transport, etc. Definitely not a luxury stay, but the breakfast was good and I would probably stay again as it is well-located in Rapallo.
The location is great, the receptionist I forgot her name but she was very nice and helpful, the breakfast is good the pastries are fresh and delicious! rapallo is very nice town full with energy, may be it’s not as fancy as Portofino or big as Santa Margherita but it was fun to stay in!
Nice property in the old and expensive hotel’s “scenario” in Rapallo. Rooms are clean and comfy and they have been recently renovated. They are definitively better than what they look like in the pictures. the staff is kind and helpful.
We liked everything. We have been fortunate enough to travel the world for forty years and have stayed in some gorgeous hotels but the best hotels, to us, are a real mix of service and location and comfort. And we loved this place.
Location in the center of Rapallo, everything we need was short walk from hotel, parking, train station, resturants, seaside... Good breakfast, nice owners, very helpful. My recommendation!
Very friendly staff; the hotel is close to the train station and the city center, we had a large room with a balcony overlooking a quiet street. Everything was comfortable and clean.
Rapallo
Lovely spacious apartment in the centre of Rapallo. Had kitchen facilities and Riccardo provided recommendations with regards to restaurants, etc. A good guy.
