Angela was waiting for us at the port and took us home by car. The apartment has everything and is ideal for couples, and the best is the terrace, with wonderful views to the sea! It's very clean and quiet, and I would recommend it 100% to everybody. We asked for extra towels and received them in a very quick time - we felt like at home and for sure we will come back, we had one of the best times of our lifes~
Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Casa Geloso is situated in Ustica. Really nice apartments nearby the main town square. The top-floor terrace with sea view is terrific. We were two couples with kids (4+4) and we booked the two apartments on the second floor: it was an ideal solution, the terrace being a perfect common place for a dinner with friends and see view.

We loved Ustica. It was beautiful and peaceful, the water was so clean and the locals were friendly. Would recommend doing a boat trip round the island to see the caves and hiring electric bikes to explore - the roads were very quiet. For so small a place there was also quite a good selection of little bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend taking rock shoes though - while there are loads of fantastic places to swim, they're mainly rocky.
We went to Ustica, familly of five adults as we heard it was a great place for diving. We chose the Orca Dive club, just near the port. Really good, competent, friendly - all you want from a dive club. Utica itself is really beautiful, even though there are too many cars driving around. You can dive, hike, swim, snorkel. Don't forget your water shoes. One dark sand little beach, if not its rocky. Beautiful clear water and a lot to see. Depending on the days we had to dodge jelly fish but that really depends on the weather. Buses run every 45 mins, going around the island. So you can just get off where you want. Tickets are 1.50€ at the tobacco store, valid 90 mins. If you buy the ticket in the bus it's 2€ The views are fantastic and depending where you stay really peaceful. Tons of restaturants but difficult to get a seat, if you did not reserve in advance. 2 main supermarkets - everything is at walking distance and not over priced. We found Albergo Ariston the best restaurant. The food is just delicious and the staff really friendly. They even went to the local butchers and got some chicken breast for us, as it was not on the menu. Really wonderful place and has a beautiful view on the port/sea. Ustica was perfect for us but people looking for sandy beaches should stay away and in our opinion Ustica is not ideal for families with small children.
We were there in August when it is very hot. The sea is glorious, and we were glad to swim early and late in the day- but mid-day we just needed to stay in. We found some good food and enjoyed walking around. It's a remote and charming island and things are a bit more expensive because it's hard to get to Ustica.
The island is a quiet oasis of relaxation. Perfect for staying in touch with nature and observe sea life whilst relaxing at the seaside. The water is crystal clear. A two hours boat trip around the island takes you into beautiful natural caves where the water is light blue and the views breathtaking. Really recommended if you like nature and you aren't after fully equipped beaches but you prefer a bit of discovery and adventure (most of the times access to the sea is via rocks and uneven passages although there are a couple of places where you can find longchairs, a small food/drink shop and large umbrellas to protect from the sun)
Walking around the island was amazing - there are great trails for this. The views are constantly stunning. The food and wine is fantastic - we only drank the local wines and they were wonderful. The waters are so clear and everyone was very friendly.
The island is beautiful- I think the best of all the Sicilian islands I have been to so far. The locals have to be the friendliest people in Italy. Everyone says hello when passing and many offered lifts and suggestions about what to see.
