The Comfort Plus in Chatan has quickly become one of our go-to hotels in the Chatan area for weekend getaways. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. From their warm greeting and helpful information to their complimentary coffee and extra towels and toiletries, they seem to think of it all. They even offered us umbrellas when it was raining heavily during the typhoon, which was very kind of them. The rooms are clean and comfortable and even have a washer and dryer in each room, which makes it great for longer stays. I will definitely be coming back again!

I expected a beach area with a south pacific vibe. Instead it was a theme park. We couldnt use the beach that the hotel overlooked because it was closed and had to walk 2 beaches over. Very disappointed.

Chatan is an ideal location for people visiting family members in the military. It's very close to most of the bases, and has a wide selection of hotels. There is public transportation, but It's very walkable (in most areas). We felt very safe walking around. The America Village there has lots of shops, restaurants and bars. There were three or four beaches that we saw.

A real convenient area with lots of eating and touristy-shopping options. Too many restaurants to name along with multiple markets for those cooking your own meals. It's also near one of the expressway exits which makes it easy to access to and from the airport. It can get a bit crowded on event days which I experienced firsthand on Halloween, where crowds and traffic clogged the area. If you can, get to the waterfront area at sunset to experience some of the most beautiful scenes you'll experience while on the island.RubyDanJapan
