The lodge was perfect for us. We spent 3 full days exploring the island. The lodge is close enough to town for access to restaurants and stores, but also far enough away to feel closer to the countryside. We explored the island one day by car and two days by ebike.
The rooms are comfortable, with good AC after a long day of hiking/biking. Fully accessible kitchen if you're into cooking, clean bathrooms, and showers.
Our host spoke English and Japanese. We chatted over sake on our final evening and met a few other visitors. Overall we had a wonderful experience!

For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.
