It's a nice and lively city. I liked it at once, beginning from the railway station. Thanks to my friend who lives there, I could see a lot in only two days. We visited the castle, the sand dunes, Hamana Lake (with the rope way), Museum of Musical Instruments, Museum of Mechanical Musical Instruments and a eel restaurant. Everything was great!
Hamamatsu is a very cosmopolitan city that is teeming with life throughout the day and evening. It has many transportation lines, western dining and shopping establishments and everywhere I went, the people were always willing to assist with communication issues, directions and putting up with my limited Japanese, even in the local Japanese restaurants. Other food offerings include French, Spanish, and Mexican style fusion. If you are looking for flowers, I would highly recommend Julia's Flower Shop. It is off the beaten track near my hotel, but Julia has an eye for artistically arranging, a gift for understanding customer needs and a heart for all her customers. It is an area with a fundamental Brazilian population which adds to the international offerings of food establishments. It is rich with multicultural historical museums and events with my favorite visit to a free local piano concert at the Shizuoka University of Art and Culture by a beautiful, gifted and talented local resident who has played throughout the world. This concert included a new composition that was sung by the artist and local children in Japanese and Portuguese. It was delightful. I visited the Museum of Musical Instruments which has an historical collection of musical instruments from around the world in a beautiful facility with a helpful staff and many informational video and audio presentations. I would visit this city again.
Honestly, even though it was an older hotel it was clean and had great breakfast included and a walking distance to Hamamatsu Station. I just really didn’t like that it smelled like cigarette smoke for the entire 4 nights I was there.
The city is very calm and orderly. The Yamaha Plaza is a great local attraction...it was difficult to obtain information, and the bus rotes to the Plaza were very patchy. More information on access around city in English would have been appreciated, and there were no local half or one day tours. A lovely city and we would return.
1. Breakfast was superb 2. Friendly staff 3. Comfy and clean room 4. They provide a free drink during happy hour ( alcohol & non alcohol) Personally , I am quite picky about breakfast and attitude of staff . This hotel fulfilled all of these, with very reasonable price .
The town is known for the production of musical instruments, companies like yamaha and kawai started there, so might be an interesting place for music lovers. The Museum of Musical Instruments was pretty cool. The sand dunes, Nakatajima Sakyu, are not recommended, the facilities around are almost non-existant and the heat is too strong now in July. There are some construction works happening in the precincts so a lot of huge trailers and workers around, the beach is not very accessible and a bit dirty.
This facility is part of a larger chain with many other locations around the area I stayed in. It was easy to find, close to bus line and an easy walking distance to food, entertainment and sites I desired to visit. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful during the duration of my stay there. I arrived a day early and they assisted me with booking in early. My Japanese is very limited at this point and the staff were very friendly, patient and helpful in seeing to my needs and providing information to assist my stay in the area.
The room provided was much bigger and more comfortable than expected compared to the ones in the photos. The hotel was very thoughtful and provided all the necessities ahead for our 8 year-old son which made his stay very enjoyable and comfortable as well. The location of the hotel was within the vicinity of museums, shopping malls and eateries/restaurants. We were very happy with all the help provided by the staff with our parking and requests. Will definitely stay there again if we are going to Hamamatsu, Japan.
Excellent Hotel. This was the most affordable hotel of our trip and the most comfortable and enjoyable. Very close to Hamamatsu station. Staff were very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was excellent (and I'm a fussy eater) and well stocked. The room was comfortable and clean with a heatpump and a humidifier, private bathroom with a bath. Bed wasnt too hard and i was able to request a second thicker pillow. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hamamatsu.
Hamamatsu
I loved the outdoor onsen and the classic style of the room and hotel. It felt updated in a way that retained its character. Also, the breakfast was amazing. We were visiting friends so we didn’t end up doing dinner at the hotel but wished we did!
The hotel is only a short walk from the station, which is great, and from the hotel it's very easy to catch a taxi or a bus to other locations that are worth visiting. As always in Japan, the staff was very polite and helpful.
Hamamatsu
The best hostel I stayed at while in Japan. When the typhoon hit the staff stayed behind and cooked up a feast and celebrated with everyone stuck there.
Location is just right in front of Hamamatsu Station. Hotel is relatively new, hence everything looks good. Happy hour serves drinks some light snacks
Great free refreshments in the lobby all the time. Lots of more expensive hotels didn't even have a glass of water when you arrive.
Very friendly staff at reception. Decent breakfast. Clean room with nice view of Hamamatsu. Nice touch of having phone chargers in room
The place is only five minutes on walk from Hamamatsu St, quiet residential area. There were many kind of dishes at the breakfast.
Its near in the hamamatsu shin station. And surrounded by different restaurants, fast food and convenience store.
Hamamatsu
We only stay 1 night in the hotel for stop over. The only good thing is the hot spring in the hotel.
Hamamatsu
Great location near the Hamamatsu Festival Pavilion and the sand dunes.
Hamamatsu
Great location off Lake Hamanako close to various shops, restaurants, and activities! The staff was excellent; we were greeted by a young woman in kimono who was super strong yet petite! The roof top onsen was unique.
I love the fact the staffs were friendly and used English
