I like the room temperature was able to change by myself. Also, the hair dryer at the room was very good (the ones at the big shared bath area are a bit weak for long hair). The TV had a nice selection of movies and music. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The breakfast was delicious and had a nice variety of dishes.

Many beautiful and well-maintained Japanese old-style house spread around the canal. Among them, you can find many characteristics shops selling local specialties. You can enjoy sight-seeing, museum, cafe, history all within. Spare at least half-day here. If you are a fountain pen lover, never miss the little shop inside 'Kurashiki Craft Work Village', the glass-made fountain pen has incredibly good writing feel, it outperforms any pen I got with 3X the price.
Sadly, we had no time to explore Kurashiki, but the immediate vicinity of the hotel was very pretty, and the local brochure suggested that there was plenty more we could have seen if we'd stayed longer
This guest house is for you if you are looking for a simple, authentic accommodation in a small town full of history. Don't expect a high class ryokan, but everything is honest and charming. Old wooden structure, old concrete floor, old sliding doors, fabulous, though small and simple inner garden. For us it was the perfect choice.
The Ohara Museum is wonderful, particularly the mingei collection. I enjoyed exploring the shops in the back streets. My one complaint is the price of coffee. Many cafes charged more than ¥650 a cup. I think this is highway robbery.
A beautiful little town in the Okayama prefecture. plenty to see if you’re into local arts and crafts. The o’hara museum and bikan historical quarter is a must! Quaint little town of you want a change from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Checking out all the local crafts and seeing the centuries old buildings were a highlight for us!
The old quarter is quite small but very picturesque and if you are not interested in art (Ohara museum), you would only need half a day. In addition to that large and interesting museum, we found the Toy Museum excellent. We got lost between the station and the museum and were approached by a lady who, very kindly, accompanied us to the hotel.
Kurashiki
The hostel is in the touristy Kurashiki district. The street that’s famous is just steps away. The hostel is a old Japanese style house. It’s quite cute. The AC works really well. Free water, tea and coffee. You can order some food from the owner. The owner was nice, he took our luggage up the stairs for us. Bunch of mangas if you can read Japanese!
The room itself was spacious, clean, and stylish. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is just steps away from the train station and plenty of convenient dining options (yet perfectly quiet). We were comfortable with our small children and had plenty of space to spread out, and we would highly recommend this hotel!
it was clean and located at the quiet part of the town center. we loved that it was a short walk from the station and 5 minutes walk away from the Bikan area . Also we got to enjoy free billiard two nights in a row, that was a plus point!
I felt it was like a high quality hotel with an affordable price. Everything was perfect! The breakfast had many different kind of food and it was delicious. It's really a good value for the money if you want to stay in Kurashiki!
Everything about this hotel is excellent- from the staff , who spoke fluent English, checking you in to the immaculate room, to the spacious 3 soaking tubs public bath.
Kurashiki
