The staff was superb. Picked us up from the airport and after, we rented a car from them. And they had shuttle service that dropped us back to the airport too which was awesome. It was really spacious and the best place so far from our vacation of 2 weeks in japan. I really felt like i had to review this place. Regarding the Moldy smell all people complained on the other reviews didn't really bother me. I am used to this normal smell that comes when it's really humid in humid

The quality reflected the price. The staff was very kind.

The view from the room was great. Our twin room was spacious and comfortable.

Fully automatized fascinating hotel. Comfort rooms, toilet separate feom bath. Large space and comfy beds.

Very clean and well maintained! Food was good and delicious!

Clean, convenient, near everything

Very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, great location, and a very spacious suite for a Japanese hotel.

Great views. Really good breakfast

It was nice to have a mart, convenience store, and restaurant right in front of you, and the breakfast was really delicious.

The staff is phenomenal! Very courteous and professional. The room was clean and appeared to have been recently renovated. The bed was exceptionally comfortable; the refrigerator was decent size (and cold); the air conditioner was clean and kept the room very comfortable; and the bathroom was spotless with a large tub, big shower head, and plenty of hot water. The cafe was clean and cozy, and the included breakfast was delicious!

Staff was very friendly and cordial…Hiroko went out of the way to help me find destinations that I was looking for…Breakfast staff started both my days on a good note…I would recommend this property while being here in Miyakojima…..😇😃

I stayed at Hotel Local Base with my sister for a week while visiting Miyako for the first time. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (I do not speak Japanese but they used a translation app when necessary). The room was pretty, clean, and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable. Sheets and towels were replaced daily, and housekeeping staff were pleasant and efficient. We had breakfast at the cafe almost daily - everything was a treat. We also had lunch at the soba and at the curry restaurant - both were satisfying. The hotel’s location is convenient. It is a quick ride from the airport and is 600m from a Konbini. We used the Didi app to book rides and it never took more than 5 minutes to get one. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and plan to be back!

This is my seventh Rosewood property and it might be my favorite! (SBH is also highly recommended!) There are so many wonderful things to say about this resort, but I would say the beauty of the property including the stunning reef right off shore, the fresh sushi and service at Choma and the amazing spa were highlights! Specifically, my masseuse Ms. Kin Zing was the best masseuse I have ever had. I really enjoyed using the sauna and spa facilities daily. You can use them even without a treatment so some days I would pop by the sauna for 20 minutes. The treatments were outstanding and the tea service after each appointment was very special. I ended up locating the special Okinawa tea they offered and bringing some home. We had such a wonderful experience dining at Choma, the sushi restaurant, that we elected to dine there every evening. The service was exceptional. Every night they welcomed us to our favorite table and had our drinks and dinner ready without even asking. It was Rosewood service at its finest. Miko who manages the restaurant does a stellar job. And our server Shun was top-notch. Albara was also very attentive. Everyone should learn from Miko because she runs Choma like a Rosewood restaurant should be run. The food offered for the daily complimentary breakfast was also very good. I was a little disappointed in the limited pool menu and service, but this is still a relatively new Rosewood, and I imagine they will improve after receiving feedback. The property itself is stunning. Upon arrival you are able to look out over the entire property and see the gorgeous ocean view. We stayed in a beachfront king and were very pleased with our choice. It was short walk back and forth to the pool and the beach. Our patio and plunge pool had privacy behind the shrubbery. The ocean view rooms appeared to have excellent views over the ocean, but their balconies lacked privacy. However, I think this would be a small trade off for the view.

This is the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve stayed in several very nice hotels in Asia and Europe. The room was extremely spacious and well designed. Very minimalist with lots of natural light. It was nice to swim in the evening with some of the best starry night skies I’ve seen. The breakfast was great, and they remembered all my wife’s dietary preferences. They remembered our names and made us feel very welcome. They had a very nice employee “Anh” who spoke perfect English and gave us helpful suggestions on beaches to go for snorkeling or swimming. They rented us very nice wet suits and snorkeling equipment. They offered in room message on short notice. The room itself was extremely nice, but the level of service that we got was truly unbelievable.

The location is very good. The hotel is near many restaurants and stores. The hotel rates are reasonable.

The meals of the restaurant were excellent. The public bath was clean and nice. The staff were very friendly and nice.

Great location, amazing amenities, friendly staff, safe, quiet, clean
