There is only few options to stay at Zamami and this is the best opption. Its newly renovated, only with few rooms (5 I think) but it has all what you need and more. Staff was going beyond the ususal duties to help us out and accomodate any of our needs. Rooftop terrace with nice jacuzzy for colder days and pool in warm days were great. Restaurant offers breakfast, even thou it was only one meal/plate but it was delicious. In the evening restaurant offered hotpot with okinawa beef which was delicious.

Located just a 3-minute walk to the beautiful Ama Beach, which is famous for breathtaking sunsets, Minshuku Yadokari is surrounded by untouched nature on the Zamami Island.

What an amazing find!! Probably one of the best guest houses I've ever stayed in Japan. I was picked up from Zamami port by car as soon as I arrived and then I was able to meet the kind couple that runs the place. Kaho-san is an incredible host, showing the best places in Zamami and taking care of the guests, almost as they are her own family. She helped me in renting some snorkeling apparel and, even though I completely forgot to reserve the breakfast for the next day, she prepared a quick meal out of the bat that was amazing. The house itself is really well maintained and clean. Also really close to Ama beach, for those who like snorkeling or just want to relax at one of the best beaches in Japan. Finally, there are some bikes available so you can explore the island is a very convenient way.

We got to see turtles at Ama Beach which was wonderful.

We got to see turtles at Ama Beach which was wonderful. We also rented an electric ‘car’ for 4 hours ($50) and were able to ride around the entire island. The accommodation (Blue Marine) was conveniently located and the breakfast and dinner (included in our arrangement) were top-notch. We especially appreciated the delicious fresh sashimi each evening with our meal. Taguchi-san created a great variety of delectable meals.

Take food with you if you are going off-season!!!!

Take food with you if you are going off-season!!!! It’s very difficult to find food. There are two small stores selling snacks/ beer but that’s about it. Oh, the fresh seafood takeaway place is open early and sells very delicious ( and huge) onigiri plus fried fish ( ONE PIECE=¥100). There’s nothing else open in the morning.

better beaches than Aka and that Tokashiki for a normal beach use. For diving perhaps Aka is better Port should have more and cleaner facilities for the travellers 300 yen for a 7 minute ride from the port to the beach in a crowded old bus without air condition sounds like a great business for the service operator.

    Loved Zamami.

Loved Zamami. Furuzamami had the most amazingly clear water and coral. Village has a nice feel with many restaurant options. Be sure to reserve as we saw many people being turned away as Restaurants were full. We liked Zamami more than Tokashiki. We did diving with JoyJoy who were great with our 12 year old son who had never dived before.

Lovely place for fun with friends or relaxing on your own.

Lovely place for fun with friends or relaxing on your own. It's just a 50 mins boat ride from Naha, but you need to properly check the ferry schedules because they only have limited number of trips to and fro. Their english website also needs to be updated for events, because when we went there (18-19May), most of the restaurants were closed due to Zamami Cup. But we still had a lot of fun on the beach and the sea! Zamami is a good place for sunbathing, snorkelling, glass-bottom-boat riding, stargazing, and walking around town. I would've loved to try the yoga paddle board.

We stayed on Aka, Zamami's smaller neighbour.

We stayed on Aka, Zamami's smaller neighbour. There is one beautiful swimming beach and a tiny town with guesthouses and maybe 2 cafes. It's perfect if you want to get away from it all and enjoy a slice of paradise

If you're heading to Zamami for its nature and snorkeling and you're not really fussed about a smaller room or about sharing a bathroom, Okinawa Resort might be a very good choice! We stayed at the east site, with a handful of rooms (with private AC), a fully stocked shared kitchen, a shared bathroom with multiple showers and toilets, and a fantastic shared terrace with table and bathtub. The owner is very kind and super friendly, picked us up from the harbor on arrival and also gave us a lift there on departure. Would love to be back!

Really nice place, 50m away from Ama Beach. The owner used to be a chef in Tokyo and the food he serves in the restaurant is amazing - same goes for the included breakfast! The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped and you can rent snorkeling gear for 1000 Yen/day. Also, the transport to/from the ferry was very smooth thanks to the two lovely hosts who picked us up and brought us back by car.

I had a wonderful time in this place. I was so touched by the name sign Naho San made for me when she picked me up from the port. I enjoyed my stay in the tatami room, the dinner at 38, the breakfast Naho San made for me. a big thank you for her for she helping me to contact my hotel in Onna and Naha when the ferry got canceled. and to Mr Kazu, I’ll try to come back at your birthday in October 😉

Everything. The rooms were cosy and spacious, the facilities spotless, the food delicious, the location by the sea and close to the port excellent, but mostly the kindness and friendliness of the team running the inn, their attention to their guests and the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Could not recommend enough for a laid-back chill and relaxing stay in Aka Island. Will come back.

The location is very close to the port and walking distance to everything you need nearby. The staff was very accommodating. We arrived on the morning Queen Zamami and he let us check in early. He gave a very tasty recommendation for dinner and used Google translate to help with our low level of speaking Japanese.

Friendly option for several people staying together. Cooking space and microwave, fridge and free washing machine makes it great for longer stays. In the outskirts of the village, so it is quiet but still close to village center and ferry. Very friendly owner.
