Terres Rouges Lodge is a nature resort in Banlung, Ratanakiri City. Set within tropical gardens along the Boeung Kansaing River, it features an outdoor pool, a spa, and a restaurant. The owner staff were professional, courteous, and willing to go above and beyond for us during our 2-day visit. The food was delicious, the shower/tub was a bonus, and the air conditioning was cold My Family loved the location with water view and a big pool. Thank you, Dr. JimK

I called from the bus station at 6:00 in the morning, asked for a pickup and after 20 minutes I was picked up by an 4WD car. I got my room at 7:00 AM in without extra charge. Delicious breakfasts, amazing view from the restaurant and pool. Nature, peace, rest, a tropical garden and a manager who helped me with planning local trips. I highly recommend. Featuring views of the mountain, Tree lodge offers wooden and bamboo bungalows located approximately 0.6 mi from the center of Banlung. Guests can enjoy meals at the on-site restaurant. I loved the food (best food I've had in Cambodia), I ABSOLUTELY loved the family that owns the guesthouse, it had a beautiful location and they can arrange great activities for you.
Nature at its finest. Between the waterfalls, crater lake, & rolling hills covered in greenery, you never know where to look. Take some time to walk around town & also do some trekking. You'll also find good food & friendly faces at every turn. Don't hesitate to make your day or 2 turn into a few more.
Perfect for adventure seekers and those who want to go trekking for a day or 3 days and sleep in the forest...and those who are open minded enough to want to learn about a different culture and can adjust to conditions less than the comforts and conveniences in their home countries!! Make sure to hike an hour around Yeak Laom Lake to work your legs for hiking before checking out Sona Trekking for a quality trek through the forest...also pick a waterfall among many in the area to choose from and rent a motorbike to check it out!! I saw Kachanh waterfall. Try The Green Carrot for dinner, and Setra supermarket and its attached cafe for drinks and snacks! The Spicy Korean Noodle Soup 7 levels restaurant, despite being popular with the locals because it's newly opened, was the biggest and only disappointment here, being a low quality imitation of Le Seoul spicy Korean noodle soup franchise.
Top marks to the Green Carrot restaurant. We ended up going there three times because everything we ate was amazing, and reasonably priced. The market was raw and real - not like the touristy markets in Siem Reap. We loved Crater Lake, and the day trip trekking - but it was sobering to see so much of the forest being cut down for plantation.
Quite a big town with a nice amount of local activity. I didn't spend much time exploring the town. Was more interested in the surrounding countryside. Staying with locals it would be easy to stay longer, a lovely lifestyle in a pretty, rural part of Cambodia with some interesting culture. The forests and hills are gorgeous when you get into them.
Ratanakiri Province is the best nature spot in Cambodia. Lot's of waterfalls, crystal clean Yeak Laom Lake for swim and walk around, zircon mines, pepper farms, minority villages. Banlung can be just a base for this trips but ... nothing to see there. I suggest to chose a base location between Yeak Laom Lake and 7 step Waterfall (Ou'Sean Lair), on this area You will find absolutely everything: it's close to all waterfalls (Kachanh, Katieng, Ou'Sean Lair), pepper farm, just 3 km from lake, zircon mines, cashew nut orchards and local minority.
Banloung is a wonderfully vibrant city close to many nature spots. I hiked a 2 day overnight trip to the waterfalls and got to meet the indigenous people of the area. However, each nature spot is guarded by a local and you must book a tour to see. Because of this, every business is competing for the tours which makes this town VERY money hungry. The locals overcharge every chance they get and try and steal customers from each other. Aside from the local competition making outsiders feel uncomfortable, the whole city is wonderful. Good food, good prices, cute children everywhere, I will return again one day. Definitely don't be shy to try something unknown in the marketplace.

I like the atmosphere, the views, the hospitality, and the food there. It was so tranquil which is perfect and relaxing for me as I am a writer. The surroundings are full of nature, and the view is just great. The hosts are super friendly and helpful; the most helpful hosts I’ve ever met actually. They’re great cooks as well, making my stay there felt like home. Everything is flawless just the way I like, and I’ll definitely stay there again next time I visit Ratanakiri province.
The owners of the chalets are great. Really friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was tasty and we were able to rent a motorbike from them which made exploring Banlung much easier. The rooms are clean and comfy.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. The hotel has a beautiful green park, restaurant and rooms are all in wood with wooden furniture decorated nicely in colonial style. Big and nice swimming pool.
