Such a wonderful family who host two spotless rooms. Very comfortable beds, fresh breezes from the rice fields—definitely one of the nicest rooms (in this price range) in all my travels in Sri Lanka. It’s a 15-minute walk (faster with wheels, of course) to the seaside. I wasn’t sure if I’d like that but the area is so quiet and lovely (with amazing bird-watching!) that I didn’t mind riding the bicycle for a few minutes each day. Of course, the real highlight is Gayani’s amazing cooking. Even if breakfast is included, you have to eat dinner here as well. Some of the best food I’ve had in all my time in Sri Lanka!

Talalla Bay Beach far exceeded my expectations—something I don’t say often. This is the kind of place where shoes are unnecessary, and the beach is just steps away from your room. I was lucky to stay in a top-floor room with an unrivaled view of the bay, falling asleep to the soothing sound of waves each night. The hospitality here is exceptional, radiating the warmth and authenticity of a true Sri Lankan welcome. From the moment we arrived, the host and staff made us feel completely at home. The beach itself is breathtaking—perfect for a scenic run, with sun loungers thoughtfully provided under large umbrellas. While the sea isn’t the best for swimming, it’s still great for a refreshing dip or catching a few waves. Dining here was a highlight. Thomas, the chef, owner, and host, curated an incredible menu that left us impressed, and the service was flawless. Breakfasts were equally outstanding—among the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. This property is a true find, offering incredible value for money and an atmosphere of tranquility and romance—perfect for couples seeking a quiet retreat. Without a doubt, one of our best stays in Sri Lanka!

The owner of the villa, Sahan, is very kind. Good experience because of the location near the beach. Free and peaceful place. New look and very good facilities. We will definitely come back.

Great hotel directly at the beach. The premise is in perfect conditions, very clean and thought trough. Plenty of seating options and a rooftop with ocean view. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly, delivering perfect service.

Breakfast was not included, but we always ate at the hotel. One of the best breakfast of Sri Lanka (at least on our jurney). We also tried a fwe lunch/dinner options and I have to say - they were quite good. The hotel is on a quiet beach Dickwella, but the noisy and livley Hirikiteya beach is only a short distance away (15 minutes walking). We loved the surfing there, but the beach is quite crwded and small so we loved ours a lot more. The Dickwella beach is big and uncrowded and we loved the combo of the two. ALso on Dickwella is the wonderfull restaurant Smoke and bitters - the one place where is worth to go all in - the food is amazing. Book a table - you will not be sorry. The service is really quick too.

10 out of 10! Fabulous new hotel with beautiful pool and wonderful, kind staff. Lovely breakfast every morning at the time of our choice. Helpful service which was appreciated. The room was beautiful and spacious. The food (dinner and breakfast) was amazing. The staff was very friendly. We had urgent need of a massage due to back back and the staff kindly accommodated this request. Great location, within walking distance of most points of interest.

It's a perfect stay close to the beach, delicious breakfast you can choose from local or western cuisine, good size room, shower on the way from the beach is useful.
