The location has a history, and the property was only modified as a guest house while keeping the old design. It is unique because of that. The area around the property is very quiet and very green, with many different types of trees/spices. The staff was very friendly, especially the manager (Christo). He contacted us before we arrived to make sure everything was arranged. The food was delicious, and the price was reasonable.

Great place with very hospitable Owner. Always helpful and welcoming. We booked this place at the last minute and it was wonderful experience. Breakfast was amazing the next day morning too. Highly recommend this place in Matale.

We loved this place!! A unique combination of location and staff makes this a great place to stay. We had 2 non AC rooms and that was ok with us. The other rooms looked a bit fancier but they lacked our treehouse 😉Both breakfast dinner are authentic and prepared by the mother’s owner. You can say a lot about the location which is remote, yet their farm is fantastic and the sunset around the blue mountains unforgettable. Staff not only friendly but really interested and knowledgeable.

The Forest Edge Resort enjoys a location in Dambulla, 18 miles from Sigiriya Rock and 20 miles from Pidurangala Rock. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property.

Everything: the room is very comfortable, clean and pretty, the location is 5-10min away from the cave temple in a very calm area with an amazing view on the mountain, dinner and breakfast were really good, the host is amazingly friendly and very caring. He brought us some snack before dinner, we discussed a couple of hours during very tasty and generous dinner, we tasted bananas and coconuts from the « garden », he took us on a tour of his « village ». A memory that we will for sure keep with us back to France.

The Gammaduwa Bungalow, nestled in the serene hills, offers a magical retreat amidst lush tea gardens. I drove a tuk-tuk, and while the climb was steep, the destination was truly worth it. This was an unexpected find in Matale. A bit off the beaten path, but an easy walk or trishaw ride to town. Its location was a plus since it was peaceful and serene. The owner helped arrange a guide to Knuckles Forest Reserve. The meals were also delicious and authenticity Sri Lankan. We would definitely stay here again.
