United StatesThis is a beautiful little boutique bed-and-breakfast on the shore of one of the lakes in the Park area. So right off the bat, the setting is wonderful. It's very nicely decorated. Danguolė and Arturas are excellent, kind, and attentive hosts. They picked me up at the train station when I arrived, and took me back to the train station when I left. That was very kind of them. Danguolė also made me a bowl of šaltibarščai as a gift, and it was quite the best I've had in Lithuania so far.
My room was large, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was great. You're close to one of the two restaurants in the area, Romnesa, and not all that far from tourist central, Palušė. The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, everything was clean. There are books everywhere, which is why it is called lake and Library. Danguolė provided plenty of information about the area. They allowed me to keep my rental E bike in the room for safety's sake, even though theft is not much of a problem there.
Maybe there's a better place to stay to see Aukštaitija, but I can't imagine what it might be.
