Beautiful heritage building with character & charm built in 1925 during the Henekken boom. The spacious veranda is overlooking the ocean, and the pool & recreation area is an additional bonus to stay here. The friendly staff is bi-lingual and eager to help. Thank you for the great service. Cleanliness, steps to the beach, very attentive staff, nice pool and the best tacos ever right across the street. Plenty of A/C and hot water. Very comfortable bed too. There's an Oxxo about 10 blocks away. We were 10 minutes from centro Progreso by car.

Progreso is a very nice city, clean, safe and amazing.

Progreso is a very nice city, clean, safe and amazing. The malecon is fabulous, long and have the museum of meteorite. On the side of the malecon, there're some nice restaurants. The sea is warm and with only small waves. There're no dogs on the beach. And around 4 pm, the wind blows each day. I like so much that city, I'll return. Mérida is close and there're big buses at each 15 minutes to join Progreso and it costs only 28 pesos, $2. US And Mérida have an international airport brand new.

Great and relaxing area. Loved the beach and malecon access.

Great and relaxing area. Loved the beach and malecon access. Our trip was during the annual carnival which was fun for a few days but not as relaxing as what is normal per other visitors we met. I would still recommend Progresso overall.

Progreso is just an amazing town.

Progreso is just an amazing town. If you have ever been to Puerto Vallarta, I think Progreso feels like PV back when Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were wandering around. A little less crazy busy, a little smaller, a little more town than city. People are awesome, the Yucatan culture is very present and it has a different vibe than the Atlantic side. The Gulf Of Mexico is truly a guilty pleasure. We spent hours in that warm bath water. Progreso has great people. great food, great sites, a great beach, and a wonderful Malecón/Boardwalk combo. The boardwalk side is on the other side of the Pier and it is also awesome with a different vibe. It has a local family feel and an amusement park. Just a great stay. Twenty Minutes wait before Hot water came out of the Taps. No ventilation inside the Bathroom, walls were black with mildew. Location was OK close to beach and Restaurants. Noisy people staying there lots of Partying , Swimming pool unfit to swim in it was dirty and filter was not working properly. Front desk was unfriendly only one person working in that Area. The cleaners were very good and helpful. Not a good place to stay at all.

How can Booking call this a 4star hotel ?

How can Booking call this a 4star hotel ? In what world is that ever true. They are lucky it could be a 2 or 3 at the best. You need to vet these rooms and staff! I tell an un biased photo truth based experience, nobody speaks English and i was never greeted or welcomed on a day to day basis. Before you book with booking.com try alternative recomendations. My review on internet, air conditioning, the ceiling fan worked like a fire trap. Getting a towel once a day was beyond their customer care.3 out to 6 days I had to retrieve on or wait and when i wanted 2 towels ,i was given hand towels. I have photos so look. Forget about flushing the toilet one time or having an mid day water pressure.The area around the hotel is very dirty.

Progresso beach is beautiful, with lots of restaurants to choose from and a beautiful beach to enjoy. If you are craving Canadian/American food, the Barlovento restaurant is great for that. You can get Mexican or food from home, (if you are Canadian or American), like fish and chips or boneless chicken (nuggets), even poutine or chilli cheese fries! The boneless chicken is tasty and homemade, freshly battered chicken breast pieces, not a minced frozen chicken nugget. The fish is beer battered and tasty with tartar sauce. Lots of English speaking people hang out here, with English speaking waiters. It is a great place for food, and to meet people. A great breakfast spot too, with good prices, breakfast options included some fruit which a lot of other places charge for separately! Lots of options! Nice clean bathrooms too! The Spiaggio restaurant was great for woodfired pizza's, they also have pasta's. Renee is a wonderful waiter there, and spoke English and was very friendly and helpful! It makes you want to go back just to see him, he is so nice to everyone!

Nice hotel, excellent location, friendly staff some of which spoke English. Very close to the beach (a couple of blocks) but just far away to be completely quiet. Excellent rooftop bar/restaurant on the beach that you can see from the front of the hotel. Small clean pool area for rinsing off salt after the beach with towels nearby.

The proximity to the beach was wonderful as it was a 3 min walk. The house was airy and well lit. The pool on ground floor at the entrance was lovely. The lounge area next to it was also well thought. The kitchen was well equipped. There were multiple hammocks upstairs in the rooms and the balcony.
