The property seems to be brand new, clean and well thought through. Super close to the centre and the beach. All the restaurants are also a walking distance away. The hotel is tucked away so the street parking in front of it worked well for us. With a nice pool, lots of fairly lights and well-taken care of territory - we really enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was equipped with all the basic utensils. When we felt like we want something specific for breakfast - we cooked at home. If we felt lazy - we could grab a nice, simple breakfast from the hotel. All the staff were incredibly helpful!! A huge plus was very polite, instant contact via Whasapp. Anything we asked for - we were provided with that. 10/10 stay - loved it!

Don't look any further, book this beautiful boutique hotel - you will not regret it !!! :-) This hotel exceeded our expectations!! The rooms are nicely decorated, they are spacious, modern and extremely clean. The bar area invites for a welcome drink and the hotel has got a beautiful small restaurant which we decided to try out and it was the best decision ever !! The food was delicious and the ambience was really special. The lighting around the pool created a beautiful setting for a peaceful dinner with a delicious glass of vino. The breakfast in the morning was equally tasty. We would definitely stay here again !!!

There's a lot of great things about this hotel: the location was superb, the room was great and decent space, the breakfast was from delicious a la carte selection, staff were super polite and friendly, free car parking offered and just the overall vibe is fantastic. They created this small oasis of a place and though the pool is tiny, you still feel relaxed in its overall ambiance. Calzada de los Frailles (a beautiful colorful street full of shops and restaurants) is just 2 minutes walk away from the hotel and must not be missed while in Valladolid. Some people might not like the idea of double door bathroom, one of which is a glass door leading to outside patio, though still private to your room, but for us we absolutely adored it. Oh and they do have two lovely cats!

Stunning resort - the site is extremely peaceful, with thoughtful reuse of historic details, and the villas feel very private. Bicycles and the early morning coffee are a lovely touch. Staff were more than attentive especially when it came to proactively finding out personal preferences, which were executed beautifully. Concierge superb.

Merida has a rich culture with wonderful music, fabulous dancing and all kinds of incredible free outdoor performances at night. It has beautiful architecture, excellent art galleries and museums, and friendly people proud of their heritage and interested in sharing it with visitors. Nearby there are beaches, wetlands, cenotes, Mayan ruins. Merida has it all! We stayed in the Gran Hotel de Mérida. It was an incredibly charming colonial style hotel at a very reasonable price, one block from Plaza Grande. We had a balcony overlooking a delightful small plaza and the Catedral de San Ildefonso. Our favorite museum was Palacio de la Música (a highly interactive museum with an amazing history of Mexican music). Our favorite art gallery was La Galería de Fabricio Vanden Broeck. It has moving artwork (sketches, paintings, sculptures) We bought some children’s books that have astonishingly beautiful illustrations and beautiful writing. My favorite book is El árbol que camina. Yes, in Spanish. It brought me to tears. Our favorite restaurant…all of them! The food is delicious almost everywhere!

Progreso is just an amazing town.

Progreso is just an amazing town. If you have ever been to Puerto Vallarta, I think Progreso feels like PV back when Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were wandering around. A little less crazy busy, a little smaller, a little more town than city. People are awesome, the Yucatan culture is very present and it has a different vibe than the Atlantic side. The Gulf Of Mexico is truly a guilty pleasure. We spent hours in that warm bath water. Progreso has great people. great food, great sites, a great beach, and a wonderful Malecón/Boardwalk combo. The boardwalk side is on the other side of the Pier and it is also awesome with a different vibe. It has a local family feel and an amusement park. Just a great stay. We were here many years ago and arrived at 8am to enjoy a quiet site. Now while still a wonderful site, it is crowded from opening time with coaches arriving at 10am. No access to any buildings - We climbed before but numbers and safety preclude that now It is hotter and all the grass has gone so its dusty. Many souvenir stalls everywhere make it colourful perhaps but change the atmosphere. Most people will still want to visit this iconic site which is still amazing with the large number of buildings. My advice is go to Uxmal instead - much quieter, more access, cooler, no souvenir stalls. Allow time there and you can stay close by and then visit 3 other sites easily

We loved Izamal, it's such a beautiful city and the people are super friendly. Even the guy selling fresh juice in the town square was really friendly, yelling out good morning. Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.

Merida is the second safest city in North America.

Merida is the second safest city in North America. Safer than any city in the U.S. Second only to Quebec, Canada. And for the same reason: an indigenous population speaking its own language (Mayan), where crooks can't come and hide. And it's one of the oldest cities in the Americas. Great history, and a great base to visit the wonderful old Mayan cities nearby. It does get quite hot in the summer so consider visiting in spring, fall and especially winter. Wonderful people wonderful food, a must visit addition to your bucket list. If you go, you'll go back every year.
