This place is a real haven. I loved my spacious room and being surrounded by beautiful jungle. The pool is lovely and the warm cave salt pool is amazing for relaxing. I also had a really good massage in the spa. The on-site ice cream place is great too, and I loved seeing the turtles. But the best part is the restaurant - the shrimp tostada with pineapple is one of the best things I've ever eaten!

The staff were so kind and helpful. I forgot my glasses in the hotel room an pd hadn’t realised, but they messaged me to let me know and I was able to retrieve them again. The hotel has a lovely old style room. The breakfast area and garden is so tranquil. The location is perfect, so close to the main square of Valladolid.

The Uxmal tren mayo hotel is hidden in the forrest about 5 miles from the mayan temples. The location middle in the forrest is very nice. The hotel has a nice open architecture, a bar and restaurant, billard, table tennis, table football and a gym. The outdoor pool was very nice and we had it all to ourselves. We had dinner and it was very good. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful and made our stay perfect!

This place is amazing, with a 5 star hotel service. Very good and reasonably priced food at the restaurant. A single portion of a continental breakfast is good enough for 2 people. Free short shuttle ride from the Tren Maya station, 100 Pecos to everything else. Currently its is a 10 min drive to the archeological site but it will become much shorter soon once a new main access point to the site opens in a few months (1km from the hotel).

Me and my girlfriend loved this place. It was better for me than the pictures. The rooms were simple but well designed and timeless. The lobby was warm and greeting. Access to the pool was right out our bedroom door. The pool was clean and well lit while it was open till 10 and food and drink service at the poolside restaurant/bar was delicious. We had 2 Yucatan style authentic tacos and they were delicious. All of the staff were very kind and friendly and made us feel extremely welcome and taken care of.

Stunning resort - the site is extremely peaceful, with thoughtful reuse of historic details, and the villas feel very private. Bicycles and the early morning coffee are a lovely touch. I would have loved more time in Valladolid.

I would have loved more time in Valladolid. Having said that, mine was a work trip, and I did see a lot. The cenote is peaceful and beautiful, early before the crowds. I enjoyed talking with locals; all the people were very kind and friendly. Even just sitting in the parks and green spaces, which are very clean and full of people enjoying the space. I felt very safe here. For a single lady travelling alone, that is very important. I walked around at night, no problem, it has one of the lowest crime rates in Mexico, and the people are so nice! I will be back for sure!

Progreso is a very nice city, clean, safe and amazing.

Progreso is a very nice city, clean, safe and amazing. The malecon is fabulous, long and have the museum of meteorite. On the side of the malecon, there're some nice restaurants. The sea is warm and with only small waves. There're no dogs on the beach. And around 4 pm, the wind blows each day. I like so much that city, I'll return. Mérida is close and there're big buses at each 15 minutes to join Progreso and it costs only 28 pesos, $2. US And Mérida have an international airport brand new.

The site is over-hyped as it's relatively close to Cancún. There are lots of tour buses there, The site allows hawker stalls both inside and outside the site, which detract from the overall impression of the Maya buildings. Other sites (such as Uxmal) are more impressive.

We loved Izamal, it's such a beautiful city and the people are super friendly. Even the guy selling fresh juice in the town square was really friendly, yelling out good morning. Charming coastal beach town.

Charming coastal beach town. The area has a very low population density and retains its authentic Mexican charm. We made our way from Washington, DC to Merida and then took a drive of about 60 minutes to reach Sisal. The property is located to the west of the town center. While it's possible to walk downtown, the sun can be quite intense during the day, so we opted to drive. Sisal mainly attracts domestic tourists, with locals from Merida being the most common visitors. Casa Ingo Sisal is absolutely beautiful and likely the most luxurious experience we enjoyed in Sisal. March and April mark the peak migration period for pink flamingos. Each evening between 4 and 6 PM, we witnessed numerous flocks of vibrant pink flamingos soaring over the beach - just beautiful. Additionally, there are tours available for the mangroves that allow you to get a good view of the flamingos on the ground. We had done that a few years back in Holbox, so we decided to skip it this time, but I highly recommend it. In summary, we had a wonderfully relaxing four nights in Sisal. My husband's best friend resides in Merida, which made the trip particularly special. However, without that connection, Sisal might not be worth the international travel effort unless you can fly directly to Merida (MID).

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.
