quiet city with low traffic, very nice & well preserved houses, beautiful park, very clean streets, little lakes, rivers, grass & flowers everywhere. Bicycle facilities & proper roads for their use. It is an ideal place for relaxation & for a foreigner to see the Nederlands countryside.
A lovely town with excellent shopping facilities and lots of cafes and restaurants. And just an hour's train journey to Amsterdam - sadly, we didn't have time to make that trip on this occasion
A very nice town and great transportation to the National Park De Hoge Veluwe where you can pick up free bicycles for traveling in this nature reserve AND to visit the amazing Koller Muller museum with a beautiful modern sculpture garden and collection of Van Gogh and other painters.
The hotel was in a perfect location for visiting family who had moved to the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However the breakfast were too expensive for what was on offer, and we were charged everyday when we only had 2 days. When we querried it they refunded us, but only for 1 of us, so I need to chase them up on this at home. We were charged for the small plastic bottles of water in our room everyday which we thought were complimentary (no signage to say otherwise). No kettle, tea bags or milk in our room. Staff were extremely slow to bring us a kettle and extra pillows to our room, we asked 3 times over 36 hours!!! Eventually my husband refused to leave Reception until he had them in hand.
The room was smaller but quite comfortable and warm! On the snowy night we arrive it was very welcoming! It was a last minute decision to come and we were so glad that they even had a room for us! Thank you! Breakfast was off the charts good and the selection were all delicious!
A beautiful small city. Quiet, not crowded, yet a nice 'night-life' - not loud, but you can always find people go to out to a restaurant, or a bar. Pretty nice for city walks as well. Not far from bigger cities, as Utrecht, if you really want to party.
