A very nice town and great transportation to the National Park De Hoge Veluwe where you can pick up free bicycles for traveling in this nature reserve AND to visit the amazing Koller Muller museum with a beautiful modern sculpture garden and collection of Van Gogh and other painters.
The hotel was in a perfect location for visiting family who had moved to the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However the breakfast were too expensive for what was on offer, and we were charged everyday when we only had 2 days. When we querried it they refunded us, but only for 1 of us, so I need to chase them up on this at home. We were charged for the small plastic bottles of water in our room everyday which we thought were complimentary (no signage to say otherwise). No kettle, tea bags or milk in our room. Staff were extremely slow to bring us a kettle and extra pillows to our room, we asked 3 times over 36 hours!!! Eventually my husband refused to leave Reception until he had them in hand.
The room was smaller but quite comfortable and warm! On the snowy night we arrive it was very welcoming! It was a last minute decision to come and we were so glad that they even had a room for us! Thank you! Breakfast was off the charts good and the selection were all delicious!
A beautiful small city. Quiet, not crowded, yet a nice 'night-life' - not loud, but you can always find people go to out to a restaurant, or a bar. Pretty nice for city walks as well. Not far from bigger cities, as Utrecht, if you really want to party.
We called at Apeldoorn for a "family visit" and to see a part of the Netherlands we hadn't visited before. If we had had the time, we would gladly have stayed longer than the two days we did.
Great location for families and nature lovers. Lots of choices for lodging long and short stay's. The city is in a park-like setting. Great choice of amusement parks for families and children of all ages. Gateway to Natl. Park the Hoge Veluwe, free bicycle use, great van Goch collection (Kroller- Muller Museum).
Apeldoorn
The hosts were exceptional! The kindest, most considerate, caring & helpful people you’d ever meet. I booked this b & b accommodation for my son who’s a student because there’s a massive shortage of regular accommodation for students in Apeldoorn. This couple went above & beyond, they offered him free breakfast and lunch and free access to a bicycle. What more could I have asked for? After his stay they referred to another apartment because they were already booked. They’re simply the BEST!!!
This is one of the best hotel experiences I've had in the Netherlands. The room was decorated beautifully, and every part of the building had architectural 'moments' that put you straight in the 19th century, when Appeldoorn was booming for the first time. Highly recommend this gorgeous and friendly hotel for one of the most romantic stays you'll find in this part of the world. Super fast wifi as well. The staff are really friendly and made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
All the staff was very pleasant and helpful! The rooms were nice and the views were great. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner was exceptional. The pool and spa facilities were a nice amenity especially during the heat. They also offer plenty of leisure activities right at the hotel. I would stay again and recommend anyone else traveling to stay as well.
Spacious clean room, comfortable bed and pillows, renovated bathroom, excellent breakfast. We also had an evening meal at the hotel restaurant, we had surf en turf, and the meat was exceptionally tender. Table service was excellent, i.e let us pick a table, did not put on pressure to order our meal, and always attentive.
Nice hotel in good location for sightseeing. Calm neighborhood, rooms are in overall good shape, but they do not have some of the facilities that would be nice in this price range (fridge or A/C for example). The cleanliness level was high, especially in comparison to other hotels in Apeldoorn.
Wonderful, cozy B & B with excellent furnishings and charm! Breakfast was delicious and fresh. Great location near the Park and easy walk to shops and restaurants. Petra was a delightful host always with a smile and laugh. Best value in Apeldoorn!
I found this hotel quickly, beacuse I was needed room asap. Very good choice! Clean and nice room, very big and comfy bed, and what is the best-big, nice and tidy bathroom with all ( shampoo, towels ) actually everything looks great.
