I recently stayed at Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The hotel is modern, spacious, and immaculately maintained. My room was large, with a comfortable bed, stylish décor, and a spotless bathroom equipped with a rainfall shower. Small touches like the coffee machine, generous desk space, and quiet atmosphere made it perfect for both work and relaxation. The breakfast: unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to try the breakfast. Location-wise: the hotel is just outside the city center, making it easy to reach by car with free parking, yet only a short drive or bike ride into Leeuwarden’s charming old town. What stood out most was the staff: friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to make guests feel welcome. From check-in to check-out, everything felt effortless and well-organized.

Absolutely everything! From the friendliness and generosity of the hosts, to the superb sauna, spa tub, bedding, and the absolutely amazing breakfast. This is a truly luxurious spot and we look forward to returning. It may cost a bit more, but it was definitely worth it.

Breakfast was great with many options. We did have to walk two farms down for breakfast. This location no longer serves breakfast ( it did two years ago when i also stayed there.) But two doors down is another farm similarly outfitted owned by the same family and our breakfast was served there. We arrived later than expected but received a phone call from the owner when we were on the way, telling us how to access our room, if reception was already closed.

It was a total super experience, reception staff was helpful all days. The restaurant and conference staff was friendly and also very flexible. Even late minute changes was handled as it was business as usual.

We had a stay booked for 1 night. The description of the place was a 2 bedroom * apartment with 1 double bed, a bunk bed and a crib if needed, we felt that our family with 2 adults, 2 small kids and a baby were fine since there was a bed for all of us. We were told only 3 of us could stay there and we had to find a new place. When a property advertised enough beds but didn’t allow us to stay.
