Hotel in Leiden
Leiden ibis lies right next to the Central Station and just 300 metres from the historical Leiden centre city and 10 km from Keukenhof. I've stayed at Ibis MANY times since early 2013: it's my favourite hotel in Leiden. Actually, I only ever booked other hotels in the city because there weren't vacant rooms at Ibis at the time of my visits. The location is just the best: the hotel is next to the train station. There are two grocery stores nearby (Jumbo and Aldi), and the beautiful city centre is just a short walk away (but there are many busses next to the hotel if you don't want to walk). The rooms are simple, but are often spotlessly clean. I'm obsessed with the shower cabines: I think Ibis offers the best bathrooms in the entire country. The cabines are large and spaceous, and water pressure is enormous! I've stayed in much fancier hotels across the Netherlands (including numerous 5-star hotels), but Ibis wins hands-down in the shower category. The official check-in time is 14:00, but if there are rooms available, they will happilly let you check in much earlier. All the receptionists are very professional, friendly and kind.

Beautiful and charming college town. Clean, quiet, and secure. Great coffee and sweets at Barista Cafe Nice Italian food at Pavarotti Paco Ciao, a must visit for coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks! Great atmosphere
Leiden is very pleasant, very little traffic, although bicycle traffic remains hazardous. What do you expect in the netherlands? Very walkable. Plenty of interesting historic things to see. Hortus Botanicus, a must including a guided tour to the historic telescopes next to the botanical gardens, All close to the centre of Leiden. Great variety of museums. Also plenty to do for shop-aholics.
Beautiful city to explore on foot. Lots of wonderful restaurants. Highly recommend The Bishop and a fish restaurant Crabbetje for beautiful and pleasant dining, excellent cuisine. A very easy access to the train station, on foot from the old centre.
LEIDEN IS A SMALLER QUITER VERSION OF AMSTERDAM. BUT DO NOT BOOK WITH BOOKING.COM, THE PROPERTY WAS WELL BELOW STANDARD WITH BROKEN TOILET FITTINGS AND OVERALL IN A VERY RUN DOWN AND IN MY OPINION DANGEROUS CONDITION.
A pretty university city. Lots of lovely walking over canals and bridges. We enjoyed beers and coffees overlooking canals and watching the students cycle past. We only had one day, but learned a lot about the city at the Museum de Lakenhal. Wish we'd had time for the Botanical Garden too. So easy to explore this part of Holland by train straight from the airport, and glad we decided to go west to The Hague, Delft, and Leiden, rather than the more overcrowded Amsterdam.
Leiden is a genuine Dutch experience, in a way that Amsterdam isn't. It is busy, bustling, but not overrun with tourists . The windmills and the boat tours were highlights. Both the Molen de Put (small, free), and the Molen de Valk (€5) were great windmills to visit. de Valk is a museum on 7 floors, showing working life two centuries ago. We went for a walk north of the town to the Kagerzoom golf course, and followed walking and cycling routes ll the way. The cycle network is a revelation. They are roads for bikes, and there are LOTS of them. Don't step into the cycle lane, you'll get hit! An amazing experience.
This clean and tastefully furnished hotel is situated in the city centre, 10 minutes on foot from the railway station. Lots of shops, restaurants and pubs around, a quay for boat trips along Leiden's canals is some 100 m from the door. The staff are wonderful, very polite and friendly. Check in was quick and unproblematic, the system for unlocking the doors with an app on your mobile was new to me, but intuitive and very easy to use.
stayed here when our flight was delayed 48 hours and couldn’t believe our luck. absolutely loved this charming and authentic boutique hotel. we stayed in room 41 in the garret which had exposed beams and an amazing view. simple facilities in the bathroom but very clean. staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful. lobby and bar is wonderful. check out the Goeie Mie gin company on the ground floor — amazing story, delicious drinks!!
The room was not very large, but extremely cosy. The bed was very comfortable and the design of the room very modern and "high-tech". I was located on the 10th floor and had a beautiful view on the entire city. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. Beautiful bathroom with a very unique design. The hotel is located just above Leiden central station, which was just perfect.
The location is one of my favourite points to explore Leiden from. The staff is young and vibrant, great service. I liked the breakfast, true to Dutch standards, so be aware internationals ;). Proper fresh fruit juices and nice teas. Above all the rooms are comfortable and the bikes provided by the hotel are brilliant and for free, I’ll be back!!
Leiden
Fred and his wife were the perfect hosts. The room was lovely. Well appointed, comfortable, and roomy. Breakfast was exceptional and very fresh. Fred was very helpful in suggesting things to do or restaurants to try. Location was very central and convenient to most things one wants to see in Leiden. I would highly recommend!
I was not a big fan of this hotel. they steered me from booking with booking.con to their website with a bullshit excuse about online data protection. the dhole experience with this hotel sucked . authenticity and beauty of Leiden got lost. everything from booking to staying equals the experience. thank you Lorenzo.
* Good location in the center of city, surrounded by restaurants, coffeeshops, grocery store, within walking distance to Leiden Centraal. * Staffs are friendly and helpful. * They are kind in accommodating rooms for you when it is urgent.
Loved Leiden! Hotel location was excellent & staff were friendly. Loved our room with the view of the street. Breakfast wasn’t on site but that wasn’t a problem as the arrangements with the restaurant across the road were excellent.
Very good hotel located in front of the train station. The city center is within a short walk. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The personnel was nice and helpful. The breakfast was ok,
