The location was lovely and the restaurant on site was excellent! It was near the town. We also really loved the beds in the hotel!

Anita our host welcomed us to this cozy loft in the middle of Winsum. Beautifully built on top of one of the best bakeries in the region. Out of which they serve a perfect breakfast! Amazing croissants, freshly baked, couldn’t be better.

The breakfast was always presented beautifully in the charming dining room, where we could see the lovely garden outside. The house is located very conveniently. We had nice dinners in town--there were surprisingly good options. We chose to stay here because we wanted to explore this part of northern Netherlands. It was within reasonable driving distance to Groningen and to a couple of local hidden gems nearby. We also enjoyed being enchanted every morning by the rural surroundings and by the stars at night. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with big windows and a very modern bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. I have back problems but slept very well even after a long drive.

I went there as I did two years ago: to have a calm and quiet NYs and it was great. They gave me the same room and the view was nice, the staff is friendly, and they allow dogs (I don't have one) which is a nice bonus if you want to avoid fireworks next year. It's close to the city and reachable by public transport, too. :)

    It's a village - a day or two should be enough to explore. It's beautiful: the canals, churches, the streets and the characteristic houses are wonderful. Smiling locals greeting you, the cafes and restaurants so cozy and homey. There are walking / cycling routes in the area which are great as well - the route to Maarhuizen is one I would definitely recommend.

    Probably the cutest hotel I have stayed in: 4 rooms in a wooden building at a camping site by a canal.The beds are in cupboards, which was fun. We slept well. Breakfast was served at the table in the restaurant - really delicious and plentyful. The village of Winsum is cosy, with several restaurants.

    This historical house is very charming, directly next to a canal (with garden). The views are nice, street is very quiet (just a few cyclists passing by) and shops in easy walking distance. Winsum is beautiful!

    Very cute hotel. Unusual beds in closets, but really comfy and fun! A couple of minutes away walking from the city center. Free parking at the hotel. We had a perfect stay there!
