We loved our stay at the Comfort Hotel in Ålesund. Our room was super spacious, bright, clean, quiet and comfortable with lots of storage. The breakfast was great with hot and cold options. The public spaces were beautifully presented with original artwork adorning every wall, spacious rooms for breakfast and others for catered events. There is a bar/reception area which serves beer, wine and cocktails. The hotel is extremely conveniently located to the rest of the town, but is on a quiet street right near the water. There are good restaurants right across the road, or round the corner and parking is free overnight on the street, (though there are parking garages as well, close by). Ålesund, is a lovely town, easy to walk with good shops and restaurants as well as interesting sites, and excursions are available for exploring further afield. A must do: Either with kids or without is the Aquarium, there is a shuttle bus available as it is a bit out of town, we drove there (it was easy to get to), but it is one of the best Aquariums I have ever visited (and I've visited quite a few) particularly the outside exhibits, where you can get close up to penguins, seals and otters. It is so well designed and laid out, you could easily spend hours here, and it's in a beautiful spot right on the Atlantic Ocean !

Very good room, comfy beds. Vast buffet breakfast, it would probably take a month's stay to try every item! Good view out to the harbour. We had dinner in the hotel which was super, really appreciated the chef making up a vegetarian starter as there was none on the menu.
