We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

An amazing property !!! Secluded and private location. Extremely well equipped with everything you can ask for, including washer and dryer which is appreciated if on a roadtrip or have been hiking. If you are looking for a well-maintained, fully equipped, very comfortable and cozy cabin, that has all modern facilities, this is where you want to stay.

As I said before. It was wonderful.

As I said before. It was wonderful. It was like a museum that could be touched and sat upon. The food was something most of us never experience. So peaceful. Please stay here. You will never forget. The price very reasonable

One of the nicest and most beautiful wooden hotels we've...

One of the nicest and most beautiful wooden hotels we've ever stayed in, in a fantastic setting. A warm welcome, friendly staff, lovely rooms overlooking the lake, a multi-course dinner with wine pairing... simply heavenly! We'll be back and stay longer.

Traditional, nice and unique hotel. Decorated with a lot of care and love. Quiet. Very clean. Well maintained. Nice location in scenic surroundings. Country shop on site. Good starting point for nice trips.

Beautiful vintage cabin interior.

Beautiful vintage cabin interior. Peace and quiet all around. A very nice host who recommended us to visit old historical Tuddal Hotell and have lunch there. Only 10 min drive by car from cabin. It was exciting there :) Cleaning was included in the rental price.
