We had great time in Hotel Traditional. It was our last stop in Nepal, we decided to stay in a nice hotel in Bhaktapur for the end of holiday. Indeed, this hotel was excellent, much more than what we expected. We loved the room style (exactly like the picture)and roof top to see the snow mountain. The location was awesome just next to Durbar square, we could enjoy the durbar square beneath our feet while drinking tea under the sun. The rooms were very clean, equipped with good houseware, bed sheet and bed cover were in high quality, and the bed, wow the bed was the most comfortable one we had experienced in all Nepal! Their food were delicious,and at same time with reasonable price, we had stayed in Bhaktapur for a few nights, we ate in hotel every night after tried couple of restaurants around, the owner and staffs always tried to feed us as much as they could, we must put over 5kg during staying with them, with their smile and kindly help, we did feel the warmness from heart. BTW, their tableware was in high standard too. Last day, we wanted to take an outlook picture of the hotel, we finally realized that our room was just right on the top of a beautiful peacock window ! Such an amazing place!

“Amazing, amazing, amazing… I stayed at Hotel Yechu, enjoyed delicious food, and everyone had a great time there. The hotel is built in Newari cultural style, with architecture. What I loved the most was the garden — so beautiful, filled with flowers. I did meditation in that peaceful garden. The whole experience felt truly wonderful.”

I have been to Nepal several times but it was my first time at Thagu Chhen. It has exceeding my expectations and provides an excellent value. There is no other hotel I would stay in Bhaktapur. This was exceptional! I stayed four nights and everything was perfect. It was quiet (most Bhaktapur hotels are central and very noisy, I discovered), luxurious, great heat in winter, hot water, fridge, wonderful breakfast, tea in room, the kindest staff (great housecleaning and the young man at the front desk) and most beautiful grounds and restaurant, the bed was awesome, and it was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean; it was a vacation just to stay at this gorgeous hotel, nevermind that it's a ten minute walk to a city that is a living museum. I was alone and am female and recommend it to anyone. I stayed in room #201. Hotel Heritage is now one of my favorites in the world. I am a bit picky but they do everything right. Bhaktapur is well worth 3-4 days. There is so much to see! Don't just go to Durbar Square. I walked to Ganesh Temple on the hill, to every pokhari, to all squares many times (Dattatreya was my favorite), and I found walking the river bank interesting at dawn or dusk with the farmers out. People are nice there. Everything is wonderful.

It’s beautifully positioned in a garden setting with views to the mountains , the staff are a delight very attentive and friendly , and the foods great . There’s a library , inner courtyard garden filled with flowering pot plants , upper roof terrace aswell as the wrap around gardens and a dining area, the whole house is well laid out, spacious and has a lot of charm .The rooms are large and airy , mine had a balcony , wifi is good and showers hot . It’s near the city and it’s also possible to visit a nearby temple further up the road . The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome , comfortable and enjoy the stay .

    Bhaktapur, a great place to look at the culture in your own time , and enjoy without the hussle and bustle of a busy city, great to explore and watch people and especially the locals going about there traditions. Don’t be afraid to walk up allley ways, you may find a surprise, an open space with a religious monument, or children playing , maybe ladies drying rice, at certain time of the year. All in all a great place to study the people and there culture. And don’t forget to Try the King Kurd.

    I have been traveling a lot in my life, but I never saw such a beautiful city. Eventhough, the dramatical earthquake , all the buildings and temples have been fixed with the old materiel. Walking by night in Bhaktapur in those small street is like to be in the middle age. Bhaktapur is a travel through the time.

    Nice place to stay for a couple of hours. If someone like spiritual places, definitely the right location. A lot of places are still under construction, since the earthquake, so the 55th window palace was closed.

    Bhaktapur is still recovering from the 2015 earthquake which...

    Bhaktapur is still recovering from the 2015 earthquake which created havoc with the local historic buildings. However, much has been done though. The place is doing it's best to get back into a reasonable position however COVID has taken its toll on the local industry and tourist venues (small shops and traders as well as the restaurants and hotels - a large number of which were closed when I visited.) I have visited many times and it still retains a special charm - photographic opportunities are always present, whether the buildings, the people or the views of the mountains - still is a magical place. Oh, (like other places in Nepal) the people are so friendly - they stop and ask if you need help but just want to be helpful, with no pushy sales pitch or offering of a ride to other local attractions.

    The host was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. He gave us a free tour of Bhaktapur and we were invited to his families festivities. The breakfast was great with a lovely view from the roof. The location is fantastic, right next to Durbar Square. The beds are the best we have had in Nepal.
