Very clean pretty room with own bathroom. Lovely home and host. In the countryside but also near to Wellington. If we had time we would have stayed longer. We were two people: mother and daughter.

Lovely home away from home. In the country but still near the city. Clean and comfortable. We did the red rocks walk and loved it. I believe we went on one of those lucky days.

We are ex- Wellingtonians living in the Manawatu now, so travelled 1.5hrs away and from Shopping in Lower hutt took ourselves for a late brunch (2pm) to Brewtown Upper hutt (having not been there before) and very hungry by this time of day. Parked up and wandered thru, eventually chose (1 of 6) Brewery bars Te Aro and settled for a beer tasting and beer Platter to quench our thirst and appetite....was delicious and certainly filled a gap. Purchased a Blackcurrent Sour to go. 2.5hrs later moved on and finished off with a Whisky tasting at the Wild Kiwi Distillery. After some Vodka tastings also left with a take home Salted Caramel and the Nectar of the Gods. Would definitely make a return visit next time in UH. Left to check in to our Accomodation at Wallaceville Motor Lodge for the night (chosen for its proximity to our event out Whitemans Valley Rd). Attended a Welly on a plate Event out at Mangaroa Farms (Field to Feast) that night... was fantastic and so worth it.

I would recommend the Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club to all visitors. The staff were friendly and accommodating which is nice when its your first visit to Upper Hutt. The spacious outdoor 'vaping' area had a wall heater at the table I chose to sit at. The Arcadia restaurant situated indoors provides a meal for all tastes and the food is yummy! The streets are full of bakeries, takeaways and restaurants to suit all palates in the main town. My daughters shopped at PaknSave for our groceries. Overall, its a pleasant area, tidy and lots of trees.

Upper Hutt was a bit lack lustre, in terms of dining out, shopping and must do attractions. There needs a big push to promote activities from the locals to encourage out of towners to want to visit Upper Hutt.

Upper Hutt is a growth area.

Upper Hutt is a growth area. Being right next to the ranges it is cold in Winter but I would argue the Summers are warmer than Wellington because the Wairarapa which is warm is on the other side of the rangers

Great communication from the host's. Clear instructions on how to get in. Easy access and parking. The room was nicely set up and is equipped with a small snack bar including a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster as well as provided fruit, breakfast cereals, coffee and tea. The bathroom and shower were nice and clean. The water pressure is great and shampoo/body wash were provided. The WiFi is fast and easy to connect to. The location is close to Upper Hutt City Centre with approximately 5 min drive time.
