Excellent design with a very tropical, lush grounds. The staff were all very friendly and we were treated very well. The food is very good. Beds are comfortable. I couldn’t have been more happy with the rooms. Lots of space and very comfortable. Very nice pool.

Well, I’m not a fan of writing reviews. In my opinion, they should either be paid, not written at all… or written from the heart. Luckily for both of us, this one comes straight from the heart. First, let’s talk perks—for all the detail lovers out there. - This is a hometel, not a hotel, and it comes with: - Wi-Fi (because yes, Instagram won’t scroll itself) - A comfy bed (you’ll sleep like a particularly pampered koala) - Air conditioning (praise be!) - Hot water (simple joys!) - Fridge, TV, swimming pool (luxuries, not just checkboxes) - Everything is squeaky clean - Beach is a 7-minute walk - The center is just 10 minutes away by motorbike (wind in hair optional but encouraged) Now, for those who read beyond the bullet points — the soul of the place. If you're the curious, open-hearted type, you’re in for something rare and special: genuine conversations with locals, the warm-hearted host, her family, and friends. You see, the Philippines isn’t just about beaches. It’s about connection — both ways. They with you. You with them. And the best part? Everyone walks away happier for it. At Viva la Rosa, you won’t feel like just a guest. Actually, scratch that. You’ll feel exactly how you want to feel. No forced conversations, no ridiculous house rules. We recently stayed at Villa Juan y Exequila in Anda, Bohol, and it was fantastic. The building is easy to find since it’s along the road. Just ask the bus driver or conductor to drop you off by the San Roque chapel. The villa is right next to the chapel. This place is very generous with what they provide. Unlike many places that offer sachets, Villa Juan y Exequila provides body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in bottle pumps from Dove or Watson’s—a well-known and trusted brand, along with bathroom tissue or toilet paper. Additionally, they give you two free 500 ml mineral water bottles, two Nescafe black coffee sticks, two creamers, and a heater for boiling water anytime, which is perfect for a big coffee drinker like me. Each floor has a water dispenser with room temperature water available for free, allowing you to refill your water bottles before heading out. Their bathroom also has a hot and cold shower, which was very convenient. You won’t go hungry here either, as there are numerous eateries and sari-sari stores in the vicinity. The market, bakery, beach, and water caves are all within walking distance. If you’re not in the mood to walk, there are motorbikes available for rent nearby, offering great convenience. The value for money is exceptional. You can choose between a fan or air-conditioned room. Initially, we opted for a fan room, but after seeing how nice and clean it was, we decided to upgrade to an air-conditioned room. The receptionist was very accommodating and had initially offered the upgrade upon check-in. Be sure to read the check-in guidelines as they require a ₱500 deposit for incidentals, which is understandable. They promptly returned our deposit after confirming the room was in good condition upon check-out. We left a generous tip for the cleaners—$2 USD or ₱100—and they were very happy.

beautiful room and property located on the most amazing beach cove in Anda. the owners and staff were extremely accommodating. the food was also great and probably the best banana mango smoothie I have ever had during my freshly made yogurt and fruit.

    If you’re looking for a peaceful get away Anda is the place...

    If you’re looking for a peaceful get away Anda is the place to go in Bohol/Panglao. Away from the chaos of Alona. Beautiful quiet beaches with amazing coral. Option to swim with giant sea turtles (boat tour). There is also an all day tour that is interesting and includes an island visit to bat caves and cave pools. Definitely for those seeking a taste of quite paradise.

    Anda is still unspoilt by tourism. There are no kiosks selling cuddly toys or kiss me quick hats and to be honest, if that is what you expect from a holiday you should head to one of the popular destinations in the Mediterranean. If you want to see real life in the Philippines then Anda is probably one of the last remaining destinations. The signs of change are starting but it's still there now if you are quick.

    TLDR: If you have food allergies, your food choices will be severely limited. Beach cleanliness needs work. Other points of interest will have trash laden everywhere as well. Vegans will have a tough time in this area since access to this type of food is limited. Your main dish would likely be vegetarian pancit bihon/pancit canton. Vegetarians will fair better. The beach sand and view of the ocean is very nice, but trash is laden everywhere on the beach and needs more effort by the locals to keep the place clean. The trash mainly comes from the ocean where debris will wash ashore, but there are places where trash is left by local inhabitants. There are also no public restrooms on this beach or public trash cans maintained by the local government. Expect to carry your trash with you, if you are the environmentally conscious-type. You will also find significant ocean life on the beaches, so be very careful not to contaminate the environment with human-made products. Other points of interest will have trash scattered everywhere, but this is common in the Philippines. However, you will find less here than the average.

    If the goal is mainly to relax , Casa Amihan is an excellent...

    If the goal is mainly to relax , Casa Amihan is an excellent choice, with wonderful staff, always willing to accommodate your requests. It is quite in the middle of nowhere (2hrs drive from the airport) but it is still possible to organize some activities if you don't mind spending some time on commuting (we went swimming with the shark whales in Lila area). I'll definitely recommend this place!

    Everything! This was our favourite hotel during our 7 weeks of travel in South East Asia. We had an amazing time, the staff was incredible, very caring and attentive, the views were out of this world and the food and drinks at the restaurant were delicious. The owner is a lovely warm person, we learnt a lot about the place from him. Oh and let's not forget the snorkelling - unforgettable. We couldn't recommend this hotel more.

    Lovely new family owned hotel / mini resort. Very clean and modern accomondation with nice pool. The owners are willing to help you in everything you need. I recommend to rent a scooter from them (very reasonable pricing) because you will get so much more from Anda and surrounding areas if you have a scooter. And it's very easy to drive and traffic is very light.
