Wow the local Filipino people are so kind and generous and helpful, they literally go out of their way to help you. Staff and locals in general. There was so much security everywhere, people in uniform near the beaches, at hotels, malls, it felt very safe. We've been to Fiji and Thailand and this tops it. The beaches were amazing, clean, crystal clear water and shallow for up to 20 metres out so you could wade and splash around without getting too deep. It was super warm, I am terrible in cold water! So this was great. We travelled with friends as we attended a wedding, they were all Filipino so helped with translating and negotiating. We never get ripped off. Most speak quite good English anyway. We tried and loved lots of Filo foods, pork liempo, sisig, longuniesa, and more! They love their fried chicken too. We regularly went to D Mall in Boracay, just a few mins from our hotel, for shopping and food. It's easy to get around, walk or catch a trike (like a tuk tuk) and just pay 50-80 pesos for the ride. We ate at TGI Fridays which was yum but a little expensive- proper restaurant. And in D Mall, we ate at Mang's and Andok's. So cheap! Try the traditional dessert Halo Halo (shaved ice, jellies and icecream) and definitely try a smoothie from Jonah's on the beach. Enjoy! We tried some water sports - fly fishing (hanging onto an inflatable raft for dear life whilst being pulled by a boat) was hilarious. Jet skiing was not cheap so we didn't. We did ATV driving but it was on road and slow... meh. Would go again but probably again with friends to get the best out of it.
Its best to stay in Station 1 where the beach is wider/bigger and the resorts/hotels are bigger, more spacious and the area is more tamed compared to Station 2. The area is best for family and couples vacationing. But most of the good places to eat are in Station 2 like Real Coffee, Tibraz, Aplaya, Manana and in Station 3, there's Dos Mestizos. There's also D Mall in Station 2 where there are stores and more restaurants. You can actually walk the whole strip of Boracay from end to end (more or less) but there are also "trikes" you can ride at the back road to make things faster for you - or if you're too tired to walk it out. The trikes cost about P60 - P150 depending where you're going and where you came from. Some hotels also offer shuttle service at scheduled times or if requested. Best time to go to Boracay without huge crowds is from November to February.
The atmosphere was vibrant with different age groups and nationalities. The fireworks on New Years Eve were something to behold and they lasted more than an hour. The food especially the seafood was abundant, fresh and cheap. I loved the fact that the beach came up to the restaurants and bars etc with no road with traffic in between. The beach was unbelievably clean, soft silky and almost pure white. You could choose to relax by the sea or do water sports, plenty of options. The weather was around 30 deg and no humidity, very comfortable. We felt very safe at any time of day or night. Unfortunately I contracted a severe virus on my 3rd day which lasted 4 weeks. I will go back asap. The Buffet at the Boracay Regency was outstanding, make sure you go there hungry as the variety and quality were First Class. Value for money. The Paridiso on the beach was also very good value for money, we selected the fresh squid and giant prawns. Do not go to Nikki Nu Nu's, the worst meal we had on the island.
It was a lovely get away for me and my husband. I just loved the beach, the food and the serenity of the place. The locals were so kind and gentle to the tourists. There are so many things to do in Boracay so make sure you'll spend your time sensibly and carefully plan your itinerary. I am not a beach-type person but I really had a great time. I recommend, book a hotel in station 1 so you'll be away from the hustle and bustle on your relaxation time..but make sure to pop in station 2 for more fun and activities!
The place to be for waterspouts lovers. Excellent choice of hotels from budget to luxury. People are warm and friendly though the beach sellers are probably the only blight on what should be a great vacation. Excellent clear waters, take your GoPro, and if you don't have one? Invest in one, you won't regret it. And definitely the place to pick up holiday souvenirs and gifts.
White Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. But a short ride (15 - 20 min) from White Beach you have other very calm hideaway beaches. Our favorite was Ilig Iligan. We were about 20 people on the beach during peak season. There was beautiful snorkeling there as well, but be careful with the sea urchins that hide by the corals.
Yapak, Boracay

Great two day getaway. Airport shuttle, including their own hotel ferry, was included; no need for the public ferry. Received and checked in promptly to a sea-view junior suite on the third floor. Restaurant choices good, excellent breakfast buffet. Sky lounge has an outdoor pool and hot tub. Located in a calm area of Station 1. We even saw some ABS-CBN celebrities here. Shuttle bus to D'mall Station 2 was convenient, takes about 10 minutes. Highly recommended.
