Copernicus house is well worth a visit, beautifully arranged and provided with some interactive experience, good descriptions in 3 languages. Town hall has a fantastic collection of art, allow 2 hours including clock tower. For excellent food go to Four Seasons (hotel 1231) and Spichrz. Beautiful city with lots of history. Great value for money if coming from the Uk. A wide variety of cuisines to choose from. Easy to walk to tourist attractions but may pose difficulties for those not steady on their feet-a few cobbled streets.

Toruń is such a lovely city!
Toruń is such a lovely city! Absolutely walkable, beautiful architecture, great athmosphere, a blend of history, culture, art, cuisine, you name it. I highly recommend all of the museums. I personally visited the Townhall museum (if you want to go to the tower, just get a combined ticket for the townhall as well, it is absolutelly worth it), the Gingerbread museum, the Fortress museum, Tony Halik's & the museum of art of the Far East in the House under the Star, and the House of Nicolas Copernicus. I also loved just strolling through the streets and on the river bank, and at night I went to the bridge to see the citylights reflected in the river. I think this is a great weekend spot for anyone - solo travellers, couples, families, seniors, just anyone. I highly recommend this Polish gem to everyone.Pavla SedláčkováCzech Republic - Scored 1010

Torun is a city for people who like to enjoy the taste of decor, architecture and style, especially Gothic. It is small but atmospheric, the staff in restaurants, hotels etc. is very polite and helpful in everything. Fantastic city for 2-3 days.JacekPoland - Scored 8.08.0

A beautiful small town that retains that medieval feel. There are quite a few attractions and museums, but many are a bit overpriced for what little is inside them. The gingerbread is amazing, the many choices of restaurants is welcome, and everything is within a very short walking distance. There is quite a bit of live music too, from jazz to punk, that can be found in the many small bars and venues in the town. Toruń is definitely a great place to stop for a night or two.

I visit Torun regularly as I have family there. It's a gorgeous old town but quite small. Many different museums etc and the planetarium is a must. A very wide selection of restaurants and other food related outlets. People very helpful. River promenade is usually gorgeous but there was some major work going on in July when I visited last and that hadn't been completed this visit ( Nov) so the river view wasn't as spectacular as in the past. In July, I chose a hotel with a river view which was actually a waste of money as the view was spoiled by the work. This time I went for a more central hotel and had a view of the stunning top of the gingerbread museum. The architecture in Torun is spectacular. One of my favourite places which I would still visit even if I didn't have family nearby. Be aware that as Torun is old, many of the traditional hotels don't have lifts! Not easy to carry a large or heavy suitcase upstairs in some hotels!! Excellent public transport links to other towns and a huge out of town shopping complex at Rubinkowo. Driving is usually straightforward as the city is well signposted but the promenade works have caused some road closures.

The breakfast was excellent and our omelette was cooked in front of us. Breakfast staff are delightful. Secure parking was an 18 minute walk away which was fine as we could offload close to the hotel & were able to reload using the carapace of hotel opposite as it only took a few minutes. There was no need to use the car during our stay.
