SloveniaThe apartment was spacious and homey, equipped with everything we needed for a hiking vacation in Madeira. We loved that the kitchen was big for cooking meals at home, and the washing machine is an added bonus to quickly clean sports clothes. Our host welcomed us to the property as soon as we arrived, showed us everything we needed to know. Maria also provided us with fresh eggs, a plate of fruit waiting for us, a pastry and cookies, which were all absolutely delightful.

United KingdomThe hotel itself is spectacular but the staff are what make this place really special. Nicole on reception was so incredibly helpful and the restaurant staff were superb. Excellent food and facilities and will be dreaming of that view for a while. Like luxury hotels used to be in ‘the good old days’.

EstoniaAmazing resort hotel, a hidden gem. Rooms have modern design, bed is very comfortable, and balcony has amazing sea view. (the view depends on the room type) Hotel has several pools (open and indoor), spa (you have to pay for it), gym, daily activities (if you want) and nice sunbathing area on the roof. Hotel staff was very friendly and polite. Breakfast was amazing, 10 out of 10, lots of options to eat. Area around the hotel is beautiful and quiet, two sandy beaches and several restaurants are in a walking distance; and a small park just across the street. You will for sure need a car to get to the hotel, because it's located about 50km away from the airport.

Canhas is on the sunniest side of the island .
Canhas is on the sunniest side of the island . It is a good choice if you want sun and sunsets . You need a car to get around if you are staying in Canhas . It’s a 40 minute drive to Funchal. It’s a good base if you would like to explore the whole island as you can drive to anywhere in the island in under an hour .

We loved the location because of easy access by car to the...
We loved the location because of easy access by car to the mountain trails. We also loved our visits to Planalto restaurant where the food was amazing and good value and the hosts were lovely and friendly. There is a great taxi service from the main road and a speedy bus that goes into Funchal if you want a rest from driving.
