It was a beautiful building from 1930 well renovated. It has a great outdoor space quite rustic and has a swimmingpool. Next to the hotel in the garden they had a small restaurant with good regional dishes. They also have good wines with it. Nicely prepaired and cosy. Nice staff. Here you will also have your breakfast inside or outside. Beautiful view. Parking places at the hotel and next to the hotel. Thanks for the good experience!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was beautiful, calm and clean. For the first time, we watched the ocean through a banana grove. We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The apartment is simply amazing and very, very cozy — it has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable life. Spacious apartment with an amazing view! In reality it’s even more beautiful than in the picture. Fully equipped kitchen and a very convenient, dedicated, parking lot. Frank (host) was very helpful and accommodating. The Ponta do Sol is probably one of the best areas to stay in Madeira!

The village was delightful, we stayed a short car ride away.

The village was delightful, we stayed a short car ride away. It was accessed through a tunnel which was too long to walk through comfortably. We can recommend ‘The Old Pharmacy’ for lovely meals, particularly brunch.

It's got the best weather on the island.

It's got the best weather on the island. It's far enough away from the hustle & bustle /crowds & traffic of Funchal, but close enough to everything to access the sights. It was more peaceful here and homey. We really loved our hotel (Zino's Palace).

Its a lovely small coastal town, but parking is a massive problem, with many people parking on the pedestrian path, and yellow lines. If I was visiting for the day, I would have gone elsewhere, but as a guest staying for 3 days, we spent many hours trying to park legally. Beware you can be clamped despite no road markings or signs, or restricted access.

A quiet little town, with nice streets and observation decks. There are several restaurants and only one shopping center in the center. It's a very nice sunset and it's always nice and warm here.

The location was great with beautiful views. It's very quiet and we could enjoy every part of the island easily by car. There is also a cool short Banana route close by the RB2 Vereda do Nateiro and other beautiful waterfalls at Ponta do Sol. The garage is a bit tricky if you have a low car. It has a nicely equipped kitchen. They had a welcome basket with fruits for us. It is ideal for a family or a group of friends. We would definitely choose the same place next time. We had a perfect stay at the House of the Sun in Ponta do Sol. The view over the town, surrounded by banana plantations, was absolutely stunning. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a basket of fresh fruit, which was a lovely touch. Juan also provided us with a helpful list of nearby restaurants, supermarkets, and local attractions. Communication with him was excellent throughout our stay. I can only recommend this beautiful house – we would love to come back!

We loved our stay at Encanto do Sol! Juan’s garden is beautiful with a great view of the sea and Ponta do Sol. Juan was also a great host, leaving us a bottle of wine for when we arrived and a full Madeira cake for when we left! I would highly recommend staying here and I hope to come back!

Very friendly host. The balcony has a great view. The apartment has a modern feel. Recommendation for drivers: don't go the way Google maps tells you to from Ponta do Sol as it takes you up very steep and narrow roads. Navigate to Sao Tiago first and then go from there.
