The breakfast was a lot of variety, and the staff was excellent.

We loved our room with a view on the ocean, also the breakfast terrace was amazing with 180 degrees view on the ocean. We enjoyed spa and pools a lot.

Breakfast was varied. Always possible to park in the paid parking area just behind the hotel. Room was warm during winter.

We liked the spacious room with a great sea view, rich and varied breakfast, the pool, the spa, the beach and the general architecture of the place.

We liked the foid and indoor pool.

Really friendly people here. I felt like I were at home. Nice decoration, it's an art.

Staff were very helpful and kind

We had a lovely time - everyone was super nice, the side view to the ocean was gorgeous, and the food was good as well. The hotel is 15 min by Uber/Bolt from Funchal center, but there was also a free shuttle bus.

the garden is beautiful, peaceful and healing. It is very well kep and the gardeners provide the restaurant with fresh produce.

Amazing staff Cool breakfast Comfortable atmosphere

We had a truly lovely stay at Casa Velha do Palheiro. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building, full of character, with a fascinating family history and surrounded by gorgeous gardens. The views from the Golf Club were fantastic, and the food at the restaurant recommended by Michela was absolutely delicious. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful, with plenty of choice (eg exotic fresh fruits selection) and a very pleasant atmosphere. Overall, it was a charming and memorable stay. We would love to come back.

We booked this hotel last minute because our flight was canceled. Despite that, we had a great time in this beautiful, classic hotel, within walking distance of many restaurants and terraces. Unfortunately, we hadn’t brought any swimwear, otherwise we definitely would have taken a dip in the lovely pool. The view from our balcony was stunning. In the evening, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was good—nothing special, but perfectly fine with friendly staff. The breakfast was varied and tasty.

The hotel is wonderful. We liked everything. It’s great that there is an opportunity to use the pool when it rains and also the gym. I also really liked the animals that live on the property and the fact that they are well taken care of. The goats and sheep are very cute. It’s also great that the weather in this area is fresh — an excellent option to escape the heat.

The staff was amazing and super friendly. The location is very nice and can easily be accessed on foot. Breakfast was very good.

Fabulous breakfast, excellent quieter location that is peaceful and tranquil. Away from the crowds but close enough to everything in downtown Funchal. This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we would return again.
