The host was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. She stayed up very late to help us deal with laundry, even after our late arrival, all the while making us feel more like family than simple customers. The host's recommendations for dining and other eatery locations were spot on. The breakfast at this location was very good. The house itself shows a lot of taste and care for the smallest details for a comfortable, even longer stay, in a great location (a ten minute pleasant walk to the third gate of the Cetate/Citadel). Thank you for everything - we will gladly return at every opportunity!

We visited Alba Iulia as a family (two adults and two children, aged 6 and 9) during a local festival, and stayed at ONE Hotel, located right within the fortress. The location was absolutely perfect—every major site was just a short walk away, allowing us to explore and then easily return to the hotel to rest without leaving the fortress area. One of the great advantages is that you can reach the hotel by car, and it offers a good parking area, which made our arrival and daily outings very convenient. We booked a one-bedroom apartment, which was spacious, filled with natural light from large windows, and impeccably clean. It had all the amenities we needed, including a well-designed and functional bathroom. The room layout was comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. The hotel staff were exceptionally kind and attentive. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests, including adjusting menu options to suit our children's preferences. Their hospitality made our stay even more pleasant. Overall, ONE Hotel provided a perfect base for exploring Alba Iulia with kids. Highly recommended for families looking for comfort, convenience, and great service in a historic setting.

    One of my favourite towns in Transylnavia. A great place for a 2-3 day stay. I'm usually there for a music event in the Alba Carolina but the city is also great because it's relatively close to other splendid places like Sibiu and Cluj. Good cafes, and restaurants all around.

    Apart from the citadel (which is superb) there ain't much to do in Alba Iulia. There are several restaurants with high quality food, some quiet streets nearby but that is pretty much all. However, there are many, many other cool objectives around (it is within an hour's drive from Sibiu, Deva, Hunedoara, and other cool locations) so it can be considered as a "base" for visiting western Transylvania.

    The citadel is basically half of the city, so besides that there are not many other attractions. There is a museum, which was closed when we tried to go, but not a problem for us, did not wanted to see it badly. Great places to eat, at an acceptable price. People are kind and if you find a day withouth many tourists, you are in luck to be albe to check a lot of details of the citadel.

    We were impressed by the greatness of the walls, the Coronation Cathedral and the Church of St. Michael. Inside the Alba Carolina fortress, museums can be visited, concerts are held and festivals take place periodically. You can walk among the impressive walls of the fortress either on foot or with a rented bicycle.

    Alba Iulia is a city full of history and charm, and I was thoroughly impressed by everything it has to offer. The highlight of the city is undoubtedly the Alba Carolina Fortress, a beautifully preserved historical site where you can walk through centuries of Romanian history. The atmosphere in the city is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly locals and a vibrant cultural scene. I also appreciated the mix of old and new, where modern amenities are seamlessly integrated into a setting rich with heritage. The city is clean, well-organized, and offers plenty of cafes, restaurants, and parks to enjoy. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, or just looking for a pleasant place to visit, Alba Iulia is definitely worth the trip.

    Beautiful, full of history, lively and great vibe and places to hang out. 2 places were recommended to us -Dante and Pub 13, both great. And we discovered on our own UNIO Vini, gourmet food, wine and live music. I highly recommend, we even bought a bottle of their wine.
