Located in Vysoké Tatry, 6.2 mi from Lomnicky peak, Apartmánový Hotel HREBIENOK RESORT features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a shared lounge. Location was great and hotel was very nice modern and beautiful Staff was nice too however fee for wellness for hotel guests were way to high and paying 8eur for using outdoor pool as a guest is ridiculous You choose and pay for great hotel because of the facilities and not to pay for using the pool for 30mins when you spend 400eur for 2 nights

Located at the foot of the High Tatras in the town of Stary Smokovec, Grand Hotel BELLEVUE offers an indoor pool, a spa area 2 restaurants and a night club. It was our fist stay in the hotel - we spent there 3 nights during our summer vacation. It was a pleasant stay, we enjoyed the location that was close to center of Stary Smokovec. The appartment (DeLuxe Grand) that we had was rather spacious and nicely clean. Also we were lucky and got the appartment upgraded. We really liked the wellness and the pool facility in the hotel. We appreciated as well flexibility with later check-out that allowed us to enjoy the swimming pool as well onthe last day. The breakfast was fine as well. Parking was convenient. We can recommend the hotel and we will stay there again in the future.

Very relaxing. I felt very welcome and was suprised with the attention of the staff.

The newly renovated Atrium hotel near to the funicular to the Hrebienok set 984 feet away and the town of Stary Smokovec offers you cozy rooms with attached bathroom with balconies and internet... Very firendly stuff, helps with everything, nothing was a problem for them, rooms are very clean and quite new, welness is great , free of charge , not limited by time, and is split in 2 parts (2floors) one ends 10pm(adults only) another is until midnight for kids also, which is very good if u came late from your trip in Tatry, hiking or so, also has clean showers, not very crowded. We had a small room , but was just enough for two, clean shower and toilet. Resturant open till 10pm, bar and bowling in the building both till 1am. Food was excelent, breakfast bufet offers wide choices, and also dinner, not to expansive too if you book only B&B. I would add, this it is mostly a family kind of hotel. You get lots of activities for childern available within the buliding. And just outside the hotel above carpark (which is free) , u have a small hill for beginers and can use sledges also. Seen many kids playing there all day. It is an excelent value for money especially for families with children or couples. I would go there again for sure. Also on the day of departure u can leave your car there, enjoy whole day outside, example nerby Hrebienok (600m) come back in evening and then take the trip home. (Saying this just because usually is very hard to find parking spot anywhere in the location, and it will be paid also) Vistors even mentioned u can use welness until 4pm on the departure day, but I did not ask the hotel stuff to confirm, we did not need that, spent the night before 3 hours there in saunas and pool, and was simply enough. We chose to go to the hills instead.

The wellness hotel Villa Siesta is located in the mountainous scene in the heart of the High Tatras - in Nový Smokovec. Villa Siesta is the right place for charging the body and mind powers. Good location not far from centre of Smokovec, very tasty breakfast (homemade bread), relax in wellness (we also had additional massages), view on the High Tatras and at least and maybe the most important - kind and helpfull stuff.

Horsky Hotel Sliezsky Dom, Grand hotel Starý Smokovec, and Apartmánový Hotel HREBIENOK RESORT got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Vysoké Tatry.
Most stunning mountain range of the country, with rocky peaks and glacial lakes, breathtaking alpine-style landscapes, however also the most touristy region. After a windstorm of 2004 hesitantly transitioning from spruce plantation (that the locals are used to for a century) to the real mixed resilient forest. A perceptible tug-o-war between developers (skiing facilities, sterile grey hotels) and those wishing to preserve the original wilderness for less-heavy sort of tourism. Nice wooden chalets, although often with socialist era habits and attitudes of the staff. Quite lacking in cozy individual huts. Slightly underwhelming transport (too infrequent) and missing more historical vehicles (trams, trains, ...). All a bit utilitarian and sterile, without added charm. Particularly a lack of non-template cafes with some charm is astonishing. Sometimes absurdly high prices for the accommodation and food, inadequate to the generally lacking I-can-help-you-with-that-attitude among locals, sour faces and snapping. I appreciate that many facilities have started making their own food (not just microwaving pre-made industrial meals, the nemesis of Slovak tourism), even if the choice is often too much meat/flour/potatoes (i.e. Slovak taste) which may be difficult for many western visitors. It got better, with quite some way to improve - if there was a will for it. I recommend all the nature hikes, particularly to the higher altitudes, peaks, tarns. Tasting different chalet teas. Visiting Podbanske spa, or Hotel Atrium spa. The Poprad & Besenova spas are overcrowded with local and Polish families with children. Slovakia unfortunately does not have proper sauna/spa culture in blood, these are often just mechanical imitations of western facilities.
Really nice mountains with great access by train, everything is in relatively short distance. Really nice small villages such as Stary Smokovec, Tatranska Lomnica. Easy hikes with kids on Strbske Pleso, Popradske pleso and Hrebienok and other beautiful places such as Zelene pleso, Skalnate pleso etc.
High Tatras are a must-visit destination if you are in Slovakia. It´s Slovakias biggest mountains. You can visit Tatras all year-round. You can go skiing here, hiking, biking or just to relax and visit one of the best spa / wellness centers in Slovakia. However you need to be prepared that this is also a well known tourist destination so you will meet here lot´s of people all year round because of good conditions (most people come here in summer so if you avoid a typical summer holiday time you can enjoy this beautiful destination even more..)
Small village, no place to have a walk in the afternoon or evening. Not too many groceries, nothing is open after 7 pm. Great place to stay in winter time. One of the best ski centers in the region. High quality of ski infrastructure including kids area. Perfect for families. Lomnica is a great mountain full of nice slopes. Close to Stary Smokovec where you can take a train up and then sledge down the whole way or visit the ice sculptures on the peak. 1 hr drive to Tatralandia, a great aquapark.
Stayed in Starý Smokovec - the town feels nicer than the nearby Tatranská Lomnica, a bit overspoiled by tourism. Multiple options to have food outside, so no worries if your hotel doesn't include a convenient meal option. Prices are somewhat high for Slovakia, I assume, but still rather affordable, under 2€ for a beer (and much cheaper in a supermarket), 5-10€ for a simple meal. The area has surprisingly easy direct link to Kraków, owing to Flixbus. Otherwise, local trains are cheap with good quality and extensive network (not to Poland, however). The funiculair to Hrebienok and the ski passes at Tatranská Lomnica are expensive in our opinion (8€ and min 18€, respectively). However, the hiking trail to Hrebienok is smooth and easy. Also do go further, towards chata Zamkovského and Skalnaté pleso. Well-marked trail with amazing views and nature. Be careful in winter though, snow and ice may obstruct your pass unexpectedly. Don't walk down by the ski slope to Tatranská Lomnica (the green trail) as we did in January: very slippery and dangerous, especially in foggy conditions. Would definitely come back in spring/summer to try to higher mountain trails!
Nice place to visit during winter. And enjoy the winter sports like skiing, snow boarding. Hiking. There are many authentic restaurants that serves slovak traditional food like Halusky and Pirohy. Train journey is pretty cheaper and frequency is also ok .
