The market was very interesting, prices ridiculously cheap and a huge variety of goods on offer .the river night market with restaurants is worth the trip alone . Temple and buddha on the mountain is definitely worth seeing. Mukdahan is a border town with Laos.
Mukdahan is a border town with Laos. There really isn't much to see there, and better experiences in Thailand can be found elsewhere. There is the Indochina market, which is a large wholesale market close to the river - however JJ Market in Bangkok is much better with cheaper prices. There's a few large temples, however other temples can be found elsewhere in Thailand. There is some excellent Vietnamese bread and sandwiches at the walking street night market, but those can be found in Ubon and Udon. Getting around is done by walking or renting a motorcycle. You can take a tuk-tuk, but those are expensive. Mukdahan: Hot and dusty, but a good resting point before jumping the border to Laos.Guest review byBenjaminThailand

Modern with good facilities, great rooms and fantastic views of the Mekong. At the same time maintains a lovely character which feels very fitting for its Mekong/Indochina location. My favourite accommodation so far on this trip - I wish I had stayed for more than 1 night. If you do stay - I recommend visiting the fantastic Phu Manorom.
