Very good place to stay if you want to travel to Seven Lakes, they will organize it for a very good price. Hotel is very nice, WiFi works well, breakfast is fine. The owner is a very nice person and good talker. Probably the best option in this area. Close to Bazar and restaurants/shops.

Located at one end of Panjakent's main avenue, this is the best hotel in the city and one of the best in Taiyikistan. Rooms are huge and beautifully decorated as well as the other areas of the hotel. Everything is spotless and tidy. The staff, like everybody in the rest of the country, is really friendly and nice, way different from its neighbour countries; Kadir and the other female receptionist make you feel as if you were at home. After a strenuous journey at the Fann Mountains, returning to this hotel was like being in an oasis.

The staff (family) are friendly & welcoming. I was greeted with a platter of fresh fruit in my room! The room is comfortable & has a fridge. The water pressure is quite low in the private bathroom, but you can clean with patience. They let me leave my backpack in the locked conference room while I went up into the Fann Mountains for a couple of days. Thank you!

Location and the facility - but owner did try to ask for additional payment because the room I had booked would seep two people despite the fact I had booked that particular room all to myself

Sim-Sim hostel in Panjakent is not just the place you take a short rest before moving to another city but also you can find unforgettable moment while staying there. My experience here was super amazing. I got a warm welcome from Mr. Mansour the owner of the hostel who showed me everything and introduced me his family members especially his three boys, they are so lovely and absolutely nice to me and other guests. I miss them so so much. Moreover, the guests in this hostel can connect each other easily; we met other travellers here and we travelled together for few days in Tajikistan and we still keep in touch until now. As the price including breakfast, we felt the breakfast was well prepared by the mother and served by these 3 lovely boys. It was a good time to chat with other travellers and share our journeys. Other than that, a grandma kept giving us chocolate candy as a small action but really impressed. Sim-Sim can make me feel like a guesthouse more than a hostel, feel like home where there is parents taking care their family members. I felt impressed to stay here since day 1 untill the last day my time in Panjakent. Muhideen, Thailand

Panjakent is a great jumping off point for treks to the Fann mountains and or day trips to the seven lakes or as a stop on the way to Samarkand now that the border is open and very easy to go through. The town itself is a border town, but a visit to the bazaar is fun and good to stock up on trekking supplies. Old Panjakent is worth a visit - it's a pity most of the findings from the site got moved to St. Petersburg or Dushanbe.

Hotel SUGD & Guest House was more than just a hotel for us, It truly felt like home. The hospitality was amazing and made our stay very special. Maqsud and his team gave us the best memories in Panjakent. They were always helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, quickly and in the best way possible. The hotel’s location was great, with easy access to everything we needed. We had such a great time that we didn’t want to leave. We will miss Panjakent because of the wonderful people we met. Hope to visit again soon!

    A must see city.

A must see city. Not the new city but to see the ancient old city ruins and listen to the story of the vanished town! Also see the museum and dig into the history of surviving Persian language. Definitely see the great poet Rudaki Mausoleum near Panjakent. You can still hear the eco of his love for life in surrounding majestic mountains.

    Panjakent is an awesome city!

Panjakent is an awesome city! The people are great and you can really feel the hustle and bustle of every day life. The ancient town outside Panjakent gives you the opportunity to enjoy seeing the town from above and immerse yourself in a gorgeous mountainous atmosphere. You can see the mountain range in the distance with high peaks piercing through the sky. We went there in winter so we could see snow on the mountains. Then you can enjoy the famous Bazaar and a stroll through the city, of course. Food is delicious; the tea houses( chaykhona) and coffee houses (qahvakhona) serve food, too. People are very helpful and kind. English is spoken mostly by younger people; it is good if you speak a bit of Tajik or Russian. It is also a safe city. We felt comfortable at all times there.
