Featuring an indoor heated pool, this motel is 40 minutes’ drive from Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Each room includes free WiFi. A continental breakfast is served daily. The room is really big and nicely furnished with a small table and chair. The setting of the indoor pool is really charming with lots of plants. The staff at reception is very friendly and helpful. They have a large choice of time at the breakfast buffet.
Located 30 miles from Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, this Kayenta, Arizona inn features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. Navajo National Monument is 35 minutes’ drive away. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel stood out in that respect above all the others we stayed in (although the others were good), and I was determined to say this in a review.
You cannot review Monument Valley, you have to see it. It is indescribable really. But just go and see it, drive the loop and stand i awe and this natural phenomena. Its well worth the time to get there and should be on a bucket list.
We did a self guided tour of the park, which was sufficient, but once in the park, we kind of wished we had a guide. You couldn't get lost, but it would have been nice to hear some of the history and been able to ask a guide some questions. The scenery and photography opportunities are limitless!!
Amazing views and scenary... just like being in a Western movie. There is limited accommodation nearby, so recommend booking in advance, or expect. 40+ mile drive. Note. There is no 5* accommodation nearby, but the few local accommodations were fine for a 1 night stay. The 17 mile loop does need a 4x4, although some standard cars seemed to be managing the drive. We went in Feb and it was relatively quiet and not too dusty. Mid summer with dry weather & a lot of cars would be extremely dusty & may spoil the experience.
Monument Valley must be experienced overnight otherwise the magic of this place will be totally lost.Best value for families is a cabin with unrestricted views at Gouldings Lodge as their cabins are modern and sleep six (2 doubles and a double sofabed).Still expensive but worth it. Little museum on site is sweet. Restaurant pleasant in homely style. There is also a decent grocery store and petrol station on site.
Apart from the staff at the visitor center and some inside the park ( not friendly for some); the road would need to be paved properly. 2nd time visit after 3 years and it’s the same bumpy ride. The scenery is beautiful though.
Wow! Seen this place in films and on tv, but couldn’t appreciate the scale and grandeur until you see it for real. I’d love to spend a few days here so I could see it all in different light and get a bit more info on the history of the place and the Navajo people
