Everything was perfect and the attention to detail from interior design, comfort, service was exceptional. We have honestly never stayed anywhere quite as nice. The pictures don't give justice to how lovely this place is.

The host was very nice and booked our safari game drives in beforehand so we would not have to worry about this. Very beautiful spot near the river, looking over the horizon. Very comfortable stay with all amenities provided in the room. That combined with stunning views, what do you need more? Located very close to Addo Elephant Park so ideal for your stop there!

Lodge and apartment was fantastic, as was the Staff service and meals, too. Extraordinary were the Safari trips with BonBon, he was so engaged and determined to show us the best of the Big 5 as he could - and he did! Additionaly he is a fantastic driver and an awesome storyteller full of knowledge of Fauna and Flora. Would enter his guidance anytime!

Beautiful location and the waterhole attracted a fantastic variety of animals, of course especially elephants. The most fantastic guide Hanri made our 8 game drives unique. His knowledge on animals, but also history and development of Southafrica were amazing. And we had so much fun.

Addo National Park is a sanctuary for nature lovers.

Addo National Park is a sanctuary for nature lovers. A safe space to explore at your leisure. The wildlife is magnificent. Tranquil main camp where you can sit under the stars and enjoy the sounds of the night or enjoy dinner at the local steakhouse (Cattle Baron). Picnic at Jack's to stretch your legs during long days in the Park. Don't miss it, it is magic.

Beautiful well maintained game reserve.

Beautiful well maintained game reserve. Knowledgeable guides and excellent game drive. Self drive was very enjoyable. Amazing, close encounters with elephants and other wildlife. It makes for an excellent day trip even in winter. However please be wary of the roads to and from the park, these are in a very bad condition. The roads inside the park are good. There is a restaurant and shop on site but sparce offerings. Rather carry your own picnic basket. Toilets were clean.

Great for game viewing, although 2 days max is all you need.

Great for game viewing, although 2 days max is all you need. Poor choice of restaurants in the area. Considering the amount of tourists, the locals need to focus on efficiency and good service. We had too many average meals and slack waiters who don't bother too much as they know tourists have nowhere else to go. Best to eat at the Restaurant at Addo Elephant park, service, staff and food was excellent. Sorry about the rest.

Incredible sightings of elephants up close, also warthogs, zebras, jackal, kudu, tortoises, plenty of bird life, great landscapes and vegetation. Not too many other vehicles which made game viewing and photography pleasurable. Well stocked curio shop at main gate, spacious restaurant serving decent meals. Only one picnic site but it was well maintained. Addo is definitely worth a visit!

Recommend a tuck shop at the south entrance gate.

Recommend a tuck shop at the south entrance gate. No snacks , cold.or hot drinks available. Even if this is only available in high season it would make an enormous difference. Skottle and or braai grids available at Jack's picnic is recommended as is done at Kruger picnic sites . Many braais do not have grids Only having a shop at the main entrance is inconvenient.

Barefoot is a reasonable size reserve accessed off a 25km...

Barefoot is a reasonable size reserve accessed off a 25km dirt road that can be a little bumpy in places. A 4x4 is recommended particularly if it rains. We opted for a private transfer to and from the airport and Caleb our driver was just a master at navigating the rough roads - well worth the £180 for the transfer (he also took us on a game drive on a neighbouring reserve close to Addo, organised by Barefoot and he was just incredible, so knowledgable and able to track down the elusive rhino - we would seriously recommend). The Barefoot reserve doesn’t have the big 5 and the 3 Barefoot elephants are cared for by dedicated keepers who spend all their days walking with them as they roam around the reserve. At night the elephants are housed in a very large protected paddock to ensure their safety. You will see giraffe, wilderbeast, zebra as a minimum - they come in herds to graze around the villa of an evening which is an incredible sight. The views from the villa are breathtaking as it sits on its own on a hilltop. There’s good WiFi, no TV (which for us was a good thing), beds were so comfy and the staff - Olivia and Soso just made our stay perfect 🥰

Loved our stay in Addo. Enjoyed looking out at the beautiful sunset over the wetlands, you really feel like you're in nature. The villa is new and has been thoughtfully designed, with convenient and stylish touches. Great location for visiting the Elephant Park. Would stay again. Definitely opt to buy the home-baked bread!
