The town is very easily layed out and full of history.
The town is very easily layed out and full of history. Guided and unguided tours are available to visit the war that took place in the area. The richness in history and facts are felt throughout town. Not many restaurants available. Ensure that you do visit the area and plan enough time to visit at least two war sites.

Ladysmith is a great stopping off point between Johannesburg...
Ladysmith is a great stopping off point between Johannesburg and Durban and has the excellent Nambiti Game reserve and the battlefields close by.
Not sure I would want to walk the streets at night but it has all the shopping that you may want.
The Coffee Pot is an excellent café with good food and drink and great service.
The bedroom was well decorated, exceptionally clean, lovely balcony area to relax.
More than enough cupboards for storage.
Breakfast by Promise was absolutely out of this world. Choices were varied from cereal, muffins, yoghurt, juices, coffees and a cooked meal.
Caters for every taste bud.
The hostess Illona was friendly, welcoming and made us feel right at home. Loved her cat too.
Will definitely recommend Peaches and Cream to anyone traveling to Ladysmith
A Very friendly check-in.. I took up the offer of dinner, which was affordable and delicious. The honesty bar provided a nice glass of wine, whilst I overlooked Ladysmith from the viewing deck at sunset. Great way to finish a long work day.
Having the fire going for breakfast was lovely too..
Very good quality breakfast with i wide selection of foods on offer.
Supper menu is good and kitchen staff are very accommodating to special requests.
Restaurant area is full of the history of the period in which the hotel was built and a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
The amenities were all in great condition. The place is all round amazingly breath taking. The views are to die for. It’s relaxing and feels like home away from home. The privacy and intimacy of the hotel makes you feel exclusive. We loved it. Peaceful and quiet.
