The room was nicely decorated, it felt in keeping with the building and whilst it felt nicely cosy, we had plenty of space. Having a flask of cold milk left outside our door was a nice thoughtful touch. Breakfast was lovely and some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had! The staff were very friendly and efficient.

The staff were particularly friendly; the cooked breakfast, using local produce, a well prepared treat. Although very much a “pub with rooms” rather than a hotel, this was little hardship as the dining/bar area was a charming place to relax (serving Butcombe’s great range of ales) and was by no means noisy when it came to bed.
