Amazing hotel, very nicely furnished. They work as a hotel and restaurant as well. You know when the rooms have names instead of numbers, that they did a good job at it! Great interior design, attention to detail, the room was very clean and not too small, hairdryer, TV, kind staff. There was also free hotel parking, and there were 9 interior parking spaces, but the street outside also had plenty of free spots.

It was almost like living in a medieval castle! Very exciting and interesting experience. We really enjoyed the breakfast (special thanks to a girl who served it), the territory around the building was really charming. The bed was not bad after all and we also appreciated the double sink in the bathroom.

Casa do Merlo exceeded our expectations (last-minute booking in summer) -- wonderful, beautiful property in a darling small seaside town, comfortable and spacious rooms, very friendly and gracious host (we loved it so much, we stayed an extra night). I will stay here again if my travels take me back to the area in the future. It's a short and lovely walk to a wide and beautiful sand beach and a 15-20 minute stroll will land you at some good food options by the sea, too. Cathedral Beach is a 7 minute drive away.
