1. Room is very spacious and very well equiped with African style beds, wardrobe, adaptor, glasses and ammenities for coffee and powder milk.
2. The view is amazing. You practically see the ocean, hear the waves, just beautiful beach, cleaned daily and clean pool in front of the room view.
3. I left the staff at last, because I could write a novel about these friendly people who made us feel VIP guests. The restaurant staff are there for you, they played a lot with Eva and Alex and always with their smile upon made us feel like in a friend's home. The service is prompt and all orders are placed by room. You pay at the end of your stay. I would appreciate various dishes at the restaurant, coffee drinks and cocktail menus. We tested all other places on the beach to eat and Moonshine restaurant was the only one serving tuna fish. Well done, with coconut rice or grilled vegetables. Really tasty. Ibrahim, Eva and all the staff there are really amazing people whom I'll miss a lot.

- Rooms, especially bathrooms are beautiful.
- Dining & Bar staff are amazing, so friendly & open to conversations about their lives growing up in Tanzania. The included nibblies at the bar before dinner were wonderful, the variety of food was good.
- Last-minute bookings made through the front desk for taxies were great.
- Property is really well maintained & clean always.
- Security at front gate 24hrs.
- Stunning spot, gorgeous place to go for a lengthy beach walk.
- The hotel guide Mr Armani, dropped everything on the day & took us on an amazing trip snorkelling to Mnemba Island.
- If you are a confident city driver I would recommend hiring a car for your time here, the location is stunning but quite far from everything else so having a car would have made for ease of travel. A family who we met staying a Pongwe had hired a car & were enjoying the freedoms involved.
- Part of the reason we stayed here is that it was equal distance for day trips from Stone Town & then also for day trips to the north.

We liked the interior design so much, it’s a really unique place. The staff were very helpful, we felt safe and the room was comfortable. It could be a bit cheaper but it’s definitely worth to stay there. Make sure you book a room with balcony and enjoy the sunset from your balcony!! Breakfast was also very nice and a big big plus is that they have safes at the reception Thank you so much for the great hospitality Best wishes Emma & Maximilian
A hotel with character - decorated in a post-colonial style. Loved the swimming pool design! Lovely staff, breakfast was basic however tasty. They organised a trip to prison island for us. Great location, right by the sea, close to the port and a walking distance to all main attractions and great restaurants and bars.
The staff, the location, the food, the chill atmosphere. Everything was just perfect for me! Don't expect the luxury of a 5 star hotel, offcourse not. But expect a lovely african place where you can feel at home!
Very nice place for spending time, doesn,t metter if you are traveling alone or with your family. Clean and cosy apartment, stunning interior design with beautifull view for the ocean. If you looking for a tasty local cusine - visit restaurant it is really worth it!
The location! Tembo House Hotel has near perfect location. And the architecture of the hotel. It's beautiful from the inside with wooden finishings. A delight for designers to visit. I say delight because one of us is an interior designer who absolutely loved the interiors of this place. Staff is courteous. But explaining things to them is difficult since local Tanzanians don't speak/understand English so well. Finding some staff member from Indian subcontinent would be better to communicate any requirement.
