The owner is very friendly, and helped us with our queries even at night. Responsive to help messages even before the trip too. The room is extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. There is even a room spa bathtub, something which many facilities do not have. The location is very near the sea, which is of a very beautiful view. It is also about 5 mins away from town which has different shops and eateries. Very convenient to get food.

Absolutely fabulous! This is the best B&B in which we have stayed in 35 years of travel! So many extras; it was such a pleasure to find one treat after another! They use local NZ products which are wonderful. The fresh cake or cookies every day were top quality. Little appetizers at 5pm with wine if desired. A plethora of non-alcohol beverages available, great snacks in the room. Amazing bathroom amenities. Large, spacious, very well appointed rooms. A perfect location. The hosts could not have been kinder nor more helpful. I’d give them a 20 out of 10 if I could.

Well first off the absolute best thing is the location. It is literally on the waterfront across from the beach and walking distance from a bunch of shops and restaurants. The room was large for the price and had a whole sit down tub and not just a shower, which I think was the only one I seen during my whole 10 days. There's an indoor heated swimming pool that unfortunately I didn't have the time to try. There is a relatively cheap breakfast buffet (about $15 USD). Tons of on site parking that they didn't charge for and I didn't have to bother with putting something on my dash, which was great after days of hiking and my legs/ankles being beat. It was cold in NZ when I went but the temperature control in the room worked like a charm.

Sea views from all rooms are on offer at Edgewater Motor Lodge, located just 5 minutes’ walk from Napier city center. Guests have access to an outdoor pool.

We had a room with a beautiful sea view but unfortunately Cyclone Gabrielle hit Napier on Monday night. Gagah, motel manager was exceptional in keeping us up to date. Letting us stay longer as all roads from Napier were closed. He provided a bbq and gas to enable cooking and nothing was too much trouble. We cannot thank or praise him enough for his help and support during a very difficult time especially as he had his own family to worry about.

Right on main road, but quiet and traffic very light or none at all. Nice walk to town along shore park. Space to put things, exercise, write. Light!

This is near the aquarium. so, it is very convenient. Dorm room is very spacious. Have nearby plugs and reading lights too. You have street parking as well. Kitchen and dining area is also good.
