The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. It was convenient to adjust the temperature of the room, the blankets were warm -- I've never slept better in my life. Our room was right next to the lobby but it was completely quiet all night. There was the option to make coffee in the room, but we enjoyed the brewed coffee available in the lobby (and ice water). The front desk staff was very kind and knowledgeable, and they stored our bags all day while we traveled around the city. The hotel is walking distance from many excellent restaurant options, and the streets were bustling with Hasidic families, so it felt very safe.

I also want to highlight the kindness and professionalism of the housekeeping supervisor, Ms. Cynthia; when the air conditioning in our room broke down, she acted very quickly and ensured my family and I were comfortable until the technician fixed the issue. We spent 6 nights at Hotel Scherman and it was one of the best hotels I had in NYC. The room (suite with two bathrooms) was spacious and cozy, the view from the balcony fantastic (you can even see some of the billboards near Time Square). The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and most of all I was positively surprised by the breakfast (which was included in our booking). Honestly, the best US continental breakfast I have seen so far.

Located on New York City's East Side, this hotel is just 5 minutes' walk from St. Patrick's Cathedral. It offers an on-site restaurant and a 24-hour fitness centre.
