The house is set in a large compound in green and peaceful surroundings. The airy and comfortable room on the first floor (with added balcony) is nicely decorated with a rural feel. Everything is in perfect working condition, including hot shower water. Drinking water in bottles and a water cooker are provided. All this made for a very pleasant stay. The friendly house-keeper is readily available. The final amount due was accurate and the owner made a call on the last day to ensure everything went to plan. The compound is located near the Goalpara school (when reaching the school from the main road coming from Santiniketan, turn right and follow the narrow path till you spot an iron gate on the right-hand side. The house is located inside the compound with the house-keeper's home on the right hand side. A bunch of friendly dogs also guard the place. A toto for 2 passengers is about 50 Rp to Rattanpali market or Visva Bharati, 100 Rp to Bolpur market and 120 to Bolpur Station.
