We loved Dar El Jerbi! It looks better than in the photographs! Everything was clean and neat, breakfast was excellent. Najia the host is super friendly and helpful, and kept introducing us to unique Tunisian/Djerbian delicacy every morning. Watch out for Milou (the family cat) who can be quite assertive with the food on the table (but we love him to bits because he reminds us of ours back home). We were there in winter, and we took the room for four. There was a downstairs and an upstairs with separate heaters and they work well. We were given the room Toumana and it is located near to where the wifi router is so we had good internet connectivity while we were there. Dar El Jerbi was easy to find using Google Maps, even though we arrived in the dark (in our rental car). It's located about 25 minutes away from Djerbahood and is in a quiet countryside area.

This hotel was amazing!! It’s right on the beach with cozy beach chairs, a bar and restaurant connected with good food/drinks, and a gorgeous pool. You can bring your breakfast outside to one of the bar’s patio tables to feel the breeze and watch men walk by leading horses and camels. The staff were so lovely - Fatma at reception was incredibly helpful especially considering my language barrier (I don’t speak French/Arabic), and even the cleaning staff were incredibly friendly and always said good morning to me and gave me the biggest smiles. I loved everything about this place. At first I thought I’d need to suck it up and pay for wifi in my room, since it only works in the lobby and courtyard, but I’m glad I didn’t - it was nice to be disconnected from social media for a while!
