Beautiful hotel surrounded by nature. Room was stylish and spacious, looking out into a private garden. There was a private outdoor onsen connected to the room as well. The locally sourced food was amazing and served in a private room with a garden view. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Various English explanations for the course menu, hotel and surrounding area. Free parking.

The stay in the Kurokawa Onsen exceeded our expectations. We spent amazing 18 hours in the onsen. We had specious room with private onsen. We could also use the other onsens in the resort privately. Dinner was served in a private room. The serving, taste, presentation was of the level of Michelin restaurant. The staff pays attention of every detail. Definitely worth recommendation. We loved it!

Private, traditional, clean. Perfect service. Fumoto Ryokan always cater to our needs even before our arrival. Most of their onsen are private rooms so it is very nice for small groups like us who appreciate getting our own space. One of the highlight would be the meals, loved everything they serve here, they also have selections of beers and other alcohol, try their local beers! They are also strategically located in the center of Kurokawa so it is easy to explore the town.

It was a very nice onsen experience. The two onsens in the room were very good, and the private onsen options—three rooms to choose from—were also excellent. The room we booked was spacious, well-divided, and thoughtfully arranged. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast was great as well. All the staff provided exceptional service. If I have the chance, I would definitely come back and stay here again.

This is a simple ryokan style hotel near Mount Aso. Japanese style tatami room was lovely as expected. Buffet was plentiful but not the best quality The best part was some very tasty local melon. The location is great for visiting Mount Aso and the surrounding area. There is a small Kumamon-theme play area on the ground floor

Beautiful little ryokan/Onsen off the beaten path of Kurokawa Onsen. Loved their rotenburo. The meals were excellent and served in a very classy way. The staff went out of their way to make my stay fantastic. Highly recommended. Thanks Oogi!
